United States
One of the best finds of our two year journey as far as city sightseeing goes! We parked here for four nights. Not even two kms from city centre - we toured the
Mural routes, walked to the kimmel centre to see the philharmonic, independence square and the Arts Museum at the end of Ben Franklin Boulevard (yep - in our fifties so did the Rocky thang). Not far from the Italian market.
Free and absolutely no restrictions. Trick is to actually get a spot - worth hanging out in the morning or late afternoon at the diner next door to wait. There are other free municipal lots - check out visitphilly.com but we added two screenshots to this post of the spots. We have a truck camper - anything bigger will not fit here.
Loved Philly!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
ONLY FOR VANCAMPERS! Small parking lot, lots of narrow streets to get to parking lot. Do NOT attempt to go here if you are in a class C or A!
Report Check-Ingot lucky and got the last parking spot. stayed a night no problems. pretty quiet!
Report Check-InTried the parking lot. All full especially since it's Halloween night. Went to Walmart instead as we are a 21ft TT and SUV.
Report Check-InGot here late on Labor Day weekend. Had to wait almost two hours, but someone finally left and we got ourselves parked. Awesome find, thank you to the original poster for the heads up! Felt safe, pretty quiet and within walking or biking distance to everything we planned on doing.
Report Check-InThanks for sharing this location! It’s such a gem for visiting Philly. No parking restrictions. Within walking distance to the sights. Very safe neighbourhood & is quiet. We parked in a 2 hour zone out the front then came back & luckily found a park in this lot. The lot was full the whole time we were here. We’re in a Sprinter and we fit in nicely though it is quite tight. Stayed 2 nights, absolutely no problems.
Report Check-InCool spot. The parking spaces are pretty tight. We decided to just head to another area since we are a relatively large vehicle(a little smaller than a sprinter van). We might try again tomorrow.
Report Check-InExactly as described. We had to wait 5-10 minutes before getting a parking spot but absolutely worth it.
We only stayed there one night.
It’s literally just a parking lot but it’s very convenient to visit the city as everything is close by.
