Description

Truly stunning and quiet National Park. Ok, will admit we never camped here but only because we didn't know you could before we went. Wen't for a great walk up into the cloud Forrest. On the way out I asked about camping and they have a camping area there. They quoted me 100lps per person per night in a tent and it seems to have great views over the valley. They have dorm rooms (250lps). They don't have cooking facilities but no idea if they would let you use your own. Bobby who own D&D Brewery (where we found out about it) thinks it's the best NP in Honduras. The drive up is reasonably tough.... We have an SUV which doesn't have 4x4 and it was ok but steep in places - that said it didn't rain but being cloud Forrest apparently it does rain a bit. Lots of loose gravel, steep in places and needs a little bit of clearance. Doubt big rigs could do it but never drove one!

All as described. Follow the signs from main road 7km in. Paid 250 lmp per night camping / can cook with own stove. Stayed in covered area - lots of rain at night.
Quiet spot, secure, great place.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place we spent 5 days, totally familiar, clean toilets and bathrooms, wifi, perfect! Great team everyone very excited to receive Traveler’s, amazing views and great water falls. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Amazing no place to camp. Price says 250 but we were quoted 200 lempiras per person.

Asked for a discount if we stayed two nights and price went to 150pp. Bathrooms are clean.

Report Check-In

Very restful sleep here (weekday)

adding photo of the trails

Driving in sign says 250L camping pp but the lady asked for 200. I said it was a lot and she said she'd take off 10% immediately so we paid 360L for two people and the van total.

The long hike was nice and we brought our dog and cat! (cat goes in a backpack carrier when he doesn't want to walk)

also a man said he would light a campfire for us at the restaurant if we wanted to hang out and use the wifi there. we had cell reception enough to upload some YouTube thumbnails.

I do agree with all the past posts and would like to add some info.

Recepcionist asked how many nights we come for and when answering 2-3 he offered us without asking 100lps pn pp. (instead of 150lps pn pp).

Latino Campers came in 3 groups, 4 persons each on Saturday night after sunset to stay one night. They didn't play boom boom music and were rather ok to 'camp' with. If your neighbours do party stuff you can tell them not to and in my experience they do obey. Loud talking and calling each other you won't get out of their system. Only rain can take care of this.

Rain at 22:00 made them all move their tents under the palapa.

End of october it rained heavily all three nights around 21:00.

Water at campground was potable. We drank it.

beautiful park / hike / camp spot. we paid 150L per person for the entrance of the park with the night included. worth it. the senai trail is just beautiful. views are stunning. worth the climbing. tropical and cloud forests give another dimension to the hike. the best hike in Honduras

Report Check-In

Beautiful (actually) quiet camp in a National Park. We have kind of a bad luck to be all the time with a bunch of students in a National Park. But when they left it was truly peaceful.
We did the Senai Trai ( 5,1 km) who is pretty steep but beautiful with lots of birds and huge butterflies. Lots of hummingbirds around the terrace of the restaurant. Official entrance to the park is 150,- Lempiras p.P. but you can negotiate, we paid 500 for 2 persons for 2 nights. Great place!

Report Check-In

Loved this spot! Large, dry (when we were there) grassy area for camping with clean bathrooms and showers, as well as a covered area with picnic tables. We were the only ones there on a Friday night. The hikes are really nice with beautiful views! We paid 150L per person.

Report Check-In

were here during the weekend. Groups coming to walk but we were still alone on the big loop. The Camping area was ok, prefered the one down lago yojoa at finca paradise. But the walk in the nationalpark was cool.
Paid 400 Lmp for 2 nights, 2 ppl.

Report Check-In

Our favorite place since a while!! Nice campground, no rain so not muddy, grassy area. Dog friendly. They asked 150 L pp/pn But we asked for 3 night at the price of 2 and they agreed.

Report Check-In

As described. Parking lot is a bit muddy and soft, but able to find firm ground. Nice place to stay a couple of nights. Road is passable with any vehicle (no issues with height or terrain)

Report Check-In

We stayed 4 nights. We visited the waterfall you can swim under a couple times as it's a short walk from camp. We visited the bird towers in the early morning and saw two types of Tucans. This place was busy on the weekend, but we just waited tell Monday to do the kayak trip and Tuesday to do the big loop hike which took us 5 hours. We stoped a long time at the waterfall on the hike to eat lunch, and near the end under a bridge there was an epic swimming hole we couldn't pass up. This place is really beautiful.

Report Check-In

Beautiful lodge surrounded by the rain forest of the Cerro Azul Meambar national park, clean restroom wonderful trails

Report Check-In

This place is so nice! We could park on a big gras field with a palapa and clean toilets and showers (cold). We saw a lot of birds on site. The trails are well maintained and are a good experience. We payed 300 Lempiras for overnight.

Report Check-In

We came with rain in a Vanagon and we didn't have any problem to get there. We arrived at 6 pm and asked to the guard in the main entrance if we could park around there overnight. He told us to park in the clients parking and we didn't pay anything but also we didn't use the facilities of the hotel

Report Check-In

Road here was not bad; gravel and steep sections sure that might be tough in the rain but much if road has concrete on it. Our 26' rig had no issues with curves in the road. Park is lovely and quiet. we paid 300L per night for two with power. Wi-Fi works at reception area. Tigo service in and out. clean bathrooms at camping area with seats and TP.

Report Check-In

I've camped here several times in a 19' rig. Beautiful campsite. Staff are really friendly. Toilets and cold showers. Shelter area if it rains. Road up is not too difficult. School buses come up all the time. Great hiking trails. Restaurant serves adequate food.

Report Check-In

beautiful park, nice campground area surrounded by the jungle. bathroom, electricity, fire pit, table, WiFi...well very well equipped for a park! paid L100 per person (including entrance fee) because we stayed couple

of night if not L150. they didn't say anything about the dog ... 😃

we have low clearance and no 4x4 and was not that hard to get there...be careful if it rains...

Report Check-In

This place is great. I arrived on a Monday, stayed for two nights and saw only one family come for a day hike. The grounds are beautiful. The main mountain hike takes about four hours and is well worth the sweat.

Report Check-In

Really nice place! Very tranquil, sweet waterfalls and nice hiking trail. Restaurant is relatively good-not great and a bit on the expensive side but we ate there a few times. You definitely do not need any sort of 4wd to get here unless maybe intense rainy season or some other extreme circumstance. Access is via a very well maintained gravel road or pavement the entire way. Steep I guess but every type of car was in the parking lot from Bmw sedan to 40 ft school bus. 4wd recommendations are ridiculous, don't let it deter you (in our experience;)

Report Check-In

really nice place. pretty crowded when we were there, on a weekend.
the road was in pretty good condition (dry season) , steep sometimes but with paved lines, no problem without 4x4 as long as your engine has enough power for your weight.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended campground in Honduras - wish we could have stayed several days. Many hikes with more than one waterfall. 300 lempiras for park entry & camping. Covered picnic area, electricity, showers, flush toilets, wifi available at the lodge. Rough road to get up into the park, but likely could be done without 4x4.

Report Check-In

Absolutely wonderful place. Great campsite with shower worthy waterfall within a 10 min walk (they also have showers). Cloud forest hike is amazing! It was 300limp for entry and camping for 2 people and 2 dogs.

Report Check-In

Great National Park without too many people around..

Report Check-In

Camping in the national park. Additional 95 Lempira / person (US $ 5.00) admission fee. Large grassy field with fireplace surrounded by the jungle. Palapa with tables, chairs, light and electricity.
