Stayed just one night - park is actually called Hotchkiss Park. Bathrooms close at 6pm, there's no picnic tables, nice park, shared by residents and homeless people. dog walkers at all hours and the homeless people seemed to disperse after the bathrooms closed.

Lived there for more then 2 months.
My van doesnt look like a rig tho.
Had to move once a week for 3 hours.
Bathroom open between 6 and 6. Sink outside the bathroom accessible 24h.
Wifi pretty decent. Stop at midnight.
Incredible place, met awesome people.

Report Check-In

We stopped in here to scout it out on a Friday around noon. We were parked for about 15 minutes and were walking our dog in the park and bylaw was going to write us a ticket. The officer claimed that a pickup truck (truck camper) is considered a commercial vehicle and cannot be parked on the street in Santa Monica (??). Very odd bylaw and didn't really understand it. I am sure this place is fine for overnight but maybe not the best place to leave your rig at during the day.

We slept 3 nights perfectly, the street above, where the toilets are free, is the only one not parked, although nobody complies with the maximum two hours of parking that says, there is free Wi-Fi.
The area is quiet and safe, only that there are many homless who sleep and live there and also use the bathrooms, they don't usually even talk to you but sometimes they shout a lot and it can get annoying.

Crash there for more than 2 weeks. Felt very safe. Really quiet. Beautiful park. I had my skateboard, so i could literally be either in Venice or in Santa Monica in 10 min.
Restroom close at 6pm but outside sink and water fountain always available
Free wifi wasn’t working for me

Stayed here for 2 nights, you need to move during the day 7am on weekdays and 9am on weekends and you can come back around 6pm in the evening. We parked in the beach parking lot during the day $12 but worth it , your close to Santa Monica beach , Venice Beach and Santa Monica pier. So much to do and you can walk to so many restaurants the few streets up from the beach. No problems but we have a small van that’s just plain white , so it didn’t attract much attention. Free cold showers and washrooms that close at 9 pm, and water fountains to fill up water 24/7

Relatively quiet neighbourhood. Traffic picks up in the morning around 6am. We stayed one night. Public bathrooms are locked at 8pm and reopened at 6am. No parking from 3-5pm on Tuesdays.

Report Check-In

So we stayed there a second night(sat night) - not in a row. We arrived around 8pm and somebody from the neibourhood called on us. Apparently, we are not allowed to sleep overnight in our car/van in Santa Monica’ streets but Los Angeles yes. The police came around midnight to check on us. They took our informations, but we still finished our night there. So it is a chance you take, be as discreet as you can and arrive later then 10pm, maybe you have more chance ! On Saturday night, there was a lot of noise at night, people with loud music in car, beside you, just hanging out until 2-3-4 am
