A 6 mile unmaintained road with various earthquake fault sights. The site shown was at the first turn off after only a couple of miles. We camped in the gulley / ravine but there is a nice photo opp by driving the trail to a steep peak. How far you decide to go might be vehicle weight and bravery dependant. Super quiet, just a couple of cows and the navy jets for company.

Cows, lots of cows. I don't mind boondocking in open range, done it many times, but this was impossible. As noted, there are several flat open places along the gravel road but when I arrived each spot held 10 to 30 cows standing and laying around enjoying the sunshine. Drove my 2wd van about 7 miles before turning around and giving up. Cows seemed very nice, but all the sites were taken.
Report Check-InWe camped on Fairview ridge, which is accessed further down the earthquake fault road. We passed by a few other places to camp along the way. Where we ended up has a great view, especially towards the west. Fair warning - it can get very windy up there. The road leading up the mountain is gravel single-lane and steep.
