Second time we stayed here. And we were not disappointed. Great grass camp sites overlooking the river. really relaxed and safe place. ideal for stop before going to Mana or ever to relax a couple of days. lots of wildlife around. clean ablutions and stunning swimming pool. 5 people 50us total.

What a fantastic place! Riverfront big campspots with braai and campfire area. Lush green and well kept lawn, big trees for some shadow. There are two big ablution rooms for women and men with combined toilet and outdoor shower with hot water. In combination with the wildlife crossing and a quiet night with a lot of stars, this is really a place where all the pieces come together. We just past by for a night after the bordercrossing, but really inviting to stay longer. Lodge area also has a swimmingpool, we didnt use it. 20$ for two persons including a fire for our braai.

Very good campsite at 20$ for a camp spot, clean ablution. Its an elephant highway and hippos you can see many wildlife

no problem with extra costs. lovely place. very friendly owners.

Report Check-In

Be careful. This place has hidden costs .. we saw on IOverlander they ask 10US pppn. After a we were there already one night a neighbour camper said they had to pay 15 US pppn plus 7 US for wood they did not ask for. The owners spoke to us a lot and even said that at Kariba people get asked to pay Levy Tax. we stayed 3 nights. They wanted also 15 US pppn. so we complained about the fact that on all websites it is 10USS. so they said it is ok to pay 10 US pppn. when we actually paid it was 10US pppn plus 5US per day for " so called cleaning services".. plus tax levy. They will not see me again..

Very beautiful place and very well maintained, as described. We had a family of elephants come through at night, so we retreated into the camper for a moment while the young went as far as curiously touching our seats by the fire.
Helped up by arranging a permit for Mana Pools as well.
From reading various comments and talking to our neighbors in camp, pricing seems not very consistent and changes. We (2 adults) were charged $30 for the site plus $7 for the campfire, plus when we paid another $5 cleaning fee. Our 2 neighbors (admittedly a bigger vehicle) $50 for the site, but they insisted on the $10pp from the online posting (on booking.com?) plus $5/day cleaning plus tax. Might be a good idea to insist paying on arrival to avoid surprises. And for the price would have expected toilet paper to be included, maybe just an oversight.
In any case we had a very pleasant experience.

The place is more like a garden then a camping ground. I was disappointed in the way the hide their costs from you. . all over it is advertised for 10 US per person. Our neighbour camper wanted to pay but there was nobody at the office so he gave us his money to pay them. it was 37US. 2 people. he said it is 15Us per person and they added firewood that he did not asked for. we stayed 3 nights. although it is a lovely place we had no dustbin, we had to walk far for water and the garden sprayers was on all the time so we had to run through sprayers and in sobbing wet lawns to get water and use the bathrooms. The do not provide toilet paper and when we complained about the prize the lady said she will try to work around it.. the owner also said they do not charge government tax. surprise!! my husband did not want to pick a fight so he paid.. the invoice.. 10 US per person, 7 US for wood that we did not ask for , government tax..and the way around it??? 15US extra for cleaning services. what cleaning services at a camping ground? To me that is not honest. I was very sad to experience the way they treated visitors who wanted to support Zimbabwean people.

We thought we‘d arrived in paradise!!
Everything as described before and in perfect condition. Iona is a very welcoming host and staff is very friendly too.
We talked to several lodge guests and they all said, this place is much nicer than Mana Pools. We cant judge, as we were not at Mana Pools … but it must be true … it cant be any better than at this place.
We paid US$ 20 for the site/night
We came to stay two, maybe three nights … stayed four and were sad we had to leave.
Only draw back: very weak mobile connection … but who needs internet at such a place?!

We stayed at Jecha Point for several days. What a nice place to be! Elephants visiting the campsite every day, ablutions nice and clean, so is the swimming pool. We enjoyed this place very much, for us better than Mana Pools.

Report Check-In

Beautiful location, elephants walking around campsite day and night, hippos at night. Ablutions are good with hot water. No wifi, bar, or any services.

On arrival was told 10 USD pppn. In the morning suddenly it was 40 USD per pitch. Obviously I didn't pay but apparently this is the 'new price'. 6 people can share a pitch. We were asked to move pitches after setting up which was annoying, especially as the 'booked clients' never turned up.

Big rig accessible.

This is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed 3 nights to do some vehicle maintenance and have some R and R time. Very green grass to camp on, excellent ablutions and an infinity pool to use as well. The game viewing platform overlooking a waterhole is great too.

Report Check-In

Nice grass to camp right at the river, and as recommended by other travelers, Richard from Zambia +260 97 7354777 will gladly come over to fix your aircon, fridge or other electric issues on your car. While you relax, he fixes. The lawn is a big attraction for the elephants and hippos who were all over the campsite making for a very exciting afternoon.
Showers are nice and clean with an outdoor setup, nice pool, no restaurant or bar or wifi but that was perfectly cool with me! Very nice older couple that are helpful and welcoming. Lovely place close to a less lovely border crossing town but perfect to spend your last Bond Notes and Ecocash before heading to Zambia!

Report Check-In

What a beautiful campsite! Next to Zambezi on grass with a infinity pool and great ablutions. Elephants and hippos walking around at the campsite. There is also a platform where you can watch the animals.

Report Check-In

Great little place. Love all the wildlife and bush surrounding the camp. Lovely view of the river. Do climb the platform for an even better experience. Econet signal for data lousy, otherwise we would have stayed longer. If you’re here on a Monday or Friday the local market has decent fruit and a few vegetables... probably depends what’s in season.
