Lots of nice camping spots in this area. Also, lots of people wanting to camp in this area so arrive early in afternoon. Very quiet at night, I mean very quiet, no noise last night, not even wind. Nice. Lots of shade in the Ponderosa pines.

Amazing little camp spot! Its located in a draw off the forest service road. Definitely only for vehicle and tent camping. The last little stretch is pretty much a jeep trail. Vehicle doesn’t need 4wD but higher clearance for sure. There is a fire ring and 2-3bars of cell service.
Report Check-InWe enjoyed this camping area. Pretty quiet with minimal traffic. Very bumpy road to get back but our van did fine. Our last night here a huge elk with antlers hung out near our campsite for a while so that was cool to see. Grandview point very close by
Report Check-InNot recommend when it’s snowy!
Even with our Land Rover Defender we got stuck when we tried to drive out.
Multiple spots to camp, with rock fire rings. As you leave main road, do not be fooled by the red tent 'no camping' logo. That is for the National Park side. Continue very short drive until you see the National Forest sign and keep going. Quiet, worth the travel to reach. It is about 12 miles from Visitor Center
Report Check-InGood place to spend the night for free. There is also a pittoilet and a watchtower.
