Description

Perfect place if you are in your way to the south coast and you don't want to drive to La Paz.
You take a good dirt road accessible with a normal car for 5km and you arrive to the beach. There are many spots you can park along the beach. The beach is nice and we have seen a lot of whales shark and dolphins it was incredible! We ask the police that said it was safe and we met some local people who said the same. We spent one night here. easy access to the sand dunes with a big RV, but not further as there is no turn around and if you camp on the beach it is very sandy.

Height restrictions 2.6m

This was a little tough to get to in our 2wd van. we took the dirt road to avoid the short signs, but it got extremely soft and sandy in a couple of spots. we'll be sure to air down our tires before we attempt to leave. we saw a momma and baby humpback whales. it was a little hike to the beach from the spot but we didn't risk driving closer without 4wd. we also saw whale sharks every day. also saw dolphin one day. we felt comfortable most of the time but someone did turn on music really loud outside our van at 3 am last night. I took it as a gentle reminder we should probably move on to a new spot.

Height restriction of 2.6 meters, but the dirt road is easily accessed right next to the paved one! You can go right onto the pavement right after the gates if you wish, and it’s only 2 of them (someone knocked down the third). A bit of traffic mid week for sunset and sunrise, but pretty chill! Great views of La Paz and easy to get to just outside of town.

They built a paved road with 2.6 meter height restriction to the dunes. You can access the dirt road next to it for now. They look like they will be building in the area.

Stayed here 1/19/24. Beautiful spot and we’re able to get here with 2 wheel drive. The clearance was lower than our RV but you are able to go around the 3 poles

We loved this spot! It was so quiet. We had the beach to ourselves. Couple more vans down the road but we felt like we were the only ones here because they were at least 500m away.
The road to get there has 2 arches in different sections, and our truck camper was too high to go under, but we were able to go around it using the dirt road. Just make sure you turn when you get a chance otherwise you’ll have to come back.

Long sandy road makes for many places to camp on the spit between Bahia de La Paz and Ensenada de La Paz.

Nice place, we found just a little further a little pull out. Nice walk to the dunes or beach. Felt safe, but didn't leave anything outside, just in case. The road is fine in a 2wd but it is a very long washboard, so it takes about 15 min drive if you don't want everything to unscrew in your vr :)

Beautiful spot, quick access to the beach. Easy to get with our 2WD van. Some cars passing by, quiet after sunset.
Lots of flies and mosquitoes when we were there though.

Beautiful, just fine with a 2wd (we drive a VW Crafter). Washboard road on the way in, some soft spots but nothing tricky. There can be some dune racers and quad bikes in the weekends, but super quiet after sunset. More importantly you can spot whale sharks, bring your binoculars and look for a rounded pectoral fin. If you want to spot them up close, take a snorkeling tour. You can't swim towards them by yourself as this is a protected marine reserve. Cell reception was ok-ish for us, H+, 3G, 4G, it went up and down.

Nice place to stay a night or long term. It can be noisy until 11 pm and a lot of cars pass here. At the morning its quiet dought. I picked the garbages on the sand as a ioverlander contribution. The internet with Movistar is working here.

Nice and quiet, some bees in the morning attracted by our breakfast! We pulled over about 200m from this point on the map. Road was fine in our 2wd van, easy!

Report Check-In

We pulled over about 200m after the co ordinates in a small layby. There were a few cars driving to/from the spit but all quiet by 10pm.
Safe and quiet watch out for bees in the morning though, they were attracted to the smell of our breakfast!

Good camp with solid views and decent walking. The road in sucks. Super washboard. Good choice for La Paz though.

the road to turn off is about 3km past gas station there is no sign. the road out is about 7km of washboard and holes. when you finally get out there it's very soft sand a Jeep 4x4 was stuck. we turned around andct BBF e road out was worse than coming in. the beach is is not close to the road. cactus all around us. not worth it. and im not sure if 4 wheel is good. ATV will have no problem.

Great camping at the long and sandy beach. There are several camping options along the dirtroad paralleling the beach which is ok with 2 WD. You can watch dolphins, humpback whales and whale sharks from the shore. We saw whale sharks mostly 300-400 m from the beach. Don´t paddle with your kayak or snorkel to the tour boats!

it is along bumpy road to get here.. there are plenty of pull off area along the road, stay on gravel road if you don't want to get stuck in the sand like us. the beach is just a short walk. nice view and can be very windy.

Report Check-In

Safe for 2wd, but slow.
Some pull offs along the gravel road. Possible to see either side of peninsula, open sea or bay.
Saw lots of dolphins.

Very nice spot close by la paz. We spent three nights here during a month and there were always other people as well. Felt very safe, but can be pretty windy.

Report Check-In

Very good spot, quiet at night, near resorts, good cell reception, felt safe even if I'm alone. the only traffic are the employees or hotels shuttle. good view, easy access but the road is very bumpy.
