Heading north from Bardas Blancas just over the bridge crossing of Rio Grande, small turn off to the left. Well-shielded wild camp spot from wind and road noise. Rough pebble surface and suitable for any vehicle. Could fit a couple of big rigs. There is a gate that leads to an estancia I guess, which a vehicle entered and the guy just waved to us.
Amazing night skies and quiet during the night.

Report Check-InAwesome place next to the road. Description is correct. Old fuy in a pickup came in the evening and morning and crossed a fence nearby and just friendly greeted us. Absolutely stunning night skies. Quiet. Wild horses chilling around.
Report Check-InCalled in for lunch en route to caves. This is a bit more than a gravel pit, much as overlanders love them! Turn left when you drop down from road and a narrow embankment leads right out to above river. Large shady tree with fire walls and lovely view up the valley. Can get water from river. Visible from road slightly but don't think i would worry: great spot! More shady camp spots below embankment. Only one fly in the ointment: biting horse flies!
Report Check-InWe felt that this was the first good wild camp spot heading south. There are several parking areas depending on the size of your vehicle and how exposed you're comfortable with, can even park right next to the river (on next top the bridge). Remember to take your trash with you.
Report Check-InGood spot, very nice view of the river at sunset! Indeed good shield from wind!
