agree, not worth visiting. cascada cannot be reached any more. better going to the other waterfall trail in park.

Report Check-In

not really worth it. the new trail just goes to a river. after that the old one is really overgrown and the paths are rotten. you can make it over the river (don't go left though, we've tried :D) but then your walk will end at some rotten steep stairs. so no waterfall if you won't climb steep rocks.

Report Check-In

It is open now and the trail looks brand new.

Report Check-In

Sendero Cascadas still marked as closed!

Report Check-In

Sendero is closed at this date for maintenance "until further notice".

Report Check-In

Asked the park ranger and trail is still closed 29/1/2022.

Report Check-In

At the CONAF info center they told us that trail was closed for maintenance at the moment. We didn’t go.

As described by others: Sendero in its early state of decay. Some (neoliberally inclined) will find confirmation that the (neoliberal?!) state isn't able to match private initiative. Others may recognize the paralysed conservation branch of CONAF, waiting for appropriate allocation of funds to do their job...

There’s a sign up at the entrance that says peligroso no entrar. We went past- nothing dangerous perse though there are lots of slippery/broken boards. The first part is mostly boardwalks and stepladders- some missing handles. The second part is fairly rocky. We were able to make it to the little island in the middle of the river but not completely across- if you are daring you may be able to make it all the way but the thought of falling in the cold river wasn’t worth it for us. Still a nice hike though. Took one hour to the river.

Report Check-In

It’s not possible to complete the trail at this moment so you can’t reach the waterfall; you will have to stop about 600m before the end when you have to cross the river, which is impossible. The waterlevel is too high and the current is way too strong. Also, the accessible part of the path is pretty wet at some places, so wear boots if possible, or prepare for wet feet ;) Still a nice trail though!

Report Check-In

There aren’t „some waterfalls“, it‘s just one which indeed is spectacular! The trail is very easy at the beginning on boardwalks. But gets more difficult with lots of rocks, you have to watch every step. The trail ends before the waterfall is reached, so the last part is more climbing than hiking. It took us 3h in total.
