Scenic, small & quiet campground. Right on the river. Bathrooms are outhouses with no running water but clean.
Report Check-InSecluded campground. Pit toilets. 5G Verizon. Clean. Ample water hookups. Beautiful and quiet evening.
Report Check-In$5 with a national park pass or $10/night. Nice campground host told where to buy oysters. We cooked them over the campfire we built with plentiful wood laying around.
Report Check-InNearly empty on a Friday in late November. Paid $5 for the night with our interagency pass, camp host was very friendly. Beautiful place, clean bathrooms, water spigots. Still quite a few mosquitos.
Report Check-InNice place. it was almost full on a march weekend in 50 degree weather so don't count on getting a space just because it's off season. weekdays off season should be fine.
Report Check-InFantastic rustic campground right on Newport River. The sites were private. Not far from Emerald Isle and Atlantic beach. You can reserve 3+ days in advance or else first come basis.Go to: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/262810
Report Check-InFormal campsite, $10 fee. Nice quiet spot for a night. We couldn’t reserve online though; it was first come first serve. AT&T and Verizon service both pretty good.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Surprised to find a national forest campground so close to urban center. But it feels very rural here. Just us, the campground host, and one other camper, on a Tuesday night. Three bars of 5G on Verizon. Great deal, $10 per site per night 14 night maximum.
Report Check-InNice inexpensive campground….shaded, spaced sites. All as others have posted. No signage to locate campground. Our picnic table is very well used and only available for seating on one side, no big deal. Pretty good AT&T service. We have National Park pass for seniors (old folks) so it’s only $5 per night.
Be warned…ticks are thick in this area.
This is a wonderful place. shaded sites with picnic tables and fire rings. got in late, so not sure about other amenities. Will post more later.
Report Check-InNice cheap place to camp. The water is just a few yards away from the sites. Relatively quiet place to stay.
Report Check-InHere at oyster point campground, there are 15 wooden sights with fire rings, lantern posts and picnic tables. other facilities include waterless restroom facilities and potable water. The sites are first come, first serve. The campground is open year-round.
The fee is $10 per night per single site. $20 per night per double sight
Report Check-In$8 per site, no water & electric. Water spigots & trash cans dispersed.
Report Check-In$8 per night Croatan Nat’l Forest. Camp host will help. No water & electric per site. Water spigot & trash available. About 15 sites & some can be reserved.
Report Check-InAbout 15 primitive sites. Water spigots for several campers, no per site water & electric. $8 per night Croatan Nat’l Forest. Some sites are reserved. Camp host will help. Drive down 2 mile of hard pack dirt & gravel.
Report Check-InIt's closed because of the hurricane in October 2018. Not sure if and when they open again
Report Check-InI can’t speak for the campground or leave a true review but wanted to make a post to let others know the road leading to it is closed and blocked off. It looks like this area got hit hard in the hurricane and there are a lot of trees down so I’m assuming there are renovations and may be closed for the winter season. Attempted to camp here on 1/12.
