Chile
Camping cost 4000 for the truck and two people. Get a nice large enclosed plot. light, electricity, Bbq facilities. toilet and showers (didn't try them but think they are cold)
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We went here and were told by the ranger on site that the campground is closed. Had not reopened since the covid closure.
The place itself is worth a short visit though. Small museum about the history and current reforestation ik this area. All explained by a very kind and dedicated park ranger.
This same Ranger advised us to camp near the entrance of Geoglifos Pintados. The exact same spot is here on Overlander, but marked as closed. In fact, it's open.
Report Check-InPlace is closed for camping cars. (Information from the Ranger on Site)
Report Check-InIt is still running. We came here in the morning and lots of conaf people around.
Enjoy!
Report Check-InThe gate to the camping was closed, also nobody at the visitors center. Maybe because of covid?
Report Check-InThe gate of the campsite was closed. The opposite gate was open, but there was no one at the administration/reception. It seems to be in operation still, which can not be said of the other ‘camping’, clearly indicated by an official road sign, 1 km further north. That place stopped working years ago, despite the road sign.
Report Check-InVery clean, quiet an peaceful camping in a super labdscape. 4000 Pesos for 2 people and a van.
Report Check-Inthe camping is now on the other side behind the information. 4'000 pesos per stay not per person.
Report Check-InPeaceful place. Easy access. If gate is closed, you can slide it open. Visitor centre closed on Mondays. Electricity, Water. Clean toilets and showers. 4000CP for two people and camper. Interesting small trail.
Report Check-Inwhat a nice and quiet camping!! Very beautiful, clean with bathrooms and showers (in the evening with warm water, in the morning a little colder). we were the only ones for that one night. door was closed but not locked, we opened it by ourselves to enter and payed in the morning at the conaf-station just next to the camping. would stay here over and over again!

Report Check-InStayed 2 nights.
No one around when we arrived so slid the gate open and drove in.
We were too big to park in any of the enclosures but there's plenty of places for big rigs.
There's plenty of water so spent a day cleaning the outside of our truck. The tap water heats up as the day progresses so by late afternoon the showers are excellent.
Still 4000 pesos per night. Great value.
An excellent campsite: you have your own place with shade, table and bench, socket, lamp and water.
Bathroom is clean, cold showers, staff is friendly. I paid 4000, cheap for Chile. Recommended
Really nice and cheap campground! 4000 per van. Clean bathrooms, tp, cold (not freezing) shower. Each van gets their own camping section, with electricity, light, water, picnic table, bbq grill, tree for shade. No WiFi. Close to the highway, bit noisy if you sleep in a tent, we were fine in our van though. Pets not allowed. Good for big rigs, although might be tight in some sections, but there are parking spots that are not enclosed. Gate was open when we got there, and a park ranger registered us, they close the gate in the evening, but you can pull it open. Campground is on the west side.
Report Check-InCamping is on the west side of the road, the CONAF compound is directly across the road. The gate to camping may be closed, but it is not locked. It absolutely is ok to slide it open and enter. A ranger will come by in the late afternoon to check you in.
Report Check-Inthe conaf camping was also closed in June 2019, maybe due to the low season.
Report Check-InSo cheap! And good facilities.. electricity, lights, fire pits and good toilets. Entrance and campsite is on the right when driving south.
Report Check-InNicely campground as described. Toilets and showers very clean. Trees for a little bit shadow.
Very noisy from road during the night, lots of trucks passing.
Still all fine. Still clean bathrooms. Quiet. 4000 per Car up to 2-3 people.
Report Check-InThis is THE place to stay on the higway! No noise at all at night and amazing sky full of stars.
The cleanest bathroom in a long time (first stop in Chile since Perú...)
Very comfortable, great night. 4000 p/site for the night
Nice setting, but close to street. CLP 4000 per site (2 or more persons plus car). Every site has chairs/ benches w/ sunroof, electricity, light and water (potable but not for drinking, too salty and other minerals). Every site is named, has its own tree and is surrounded by a waist high stone wall (very wide ricks might not fit the opening). Clean shower (lukewarm) and toilet block (with paper and soap), additional dish washing sink. Movistar mobil coverage. Very good interpretative visitor center and nice guardaparque named Helene. Short interpretative walk on site.
Report Check-In4000 in total per night
Clean bathroom but cold water
Electricity on site
Great service for 4000clp
Electricity works
Bathrooms clean
All you need and quiet !
Very Nice camping with all that was mention before. Nobody was Here in the other side of the road. we call and sent mail but no response. The door was without secure so we Enter and end up camping . around 4 Came the guy in charge as Charged us the 4000 per night. So we recommend to Enter and camp, then wait for the man, he comes to check if someone Is in...
electricity 220 plug. un the site.
Report Check-InWas just us for the night. Lovely staff. 4000 per night. Toilets very clean. Nice place to spend a night in between places.
Report Check-InNice campground. Cold showers but potable water. Still 4000 pp
Report Check-InStayed on this lovely Conaf campsite for 10 nights. Everything in place. Lots of space. A voluteergroup of students helped building up the campsite for 8 days. We have a bought ourselves an annual Conafpass for 10000 CLP per person so the most NP entrances and campsites except for two are free (extranjero pays 5500 CLP PP to camp for one night).
Report Check-InIt was open on a sunday, 9th of july.
4000 pesos for 2 and a car. Very nice place, electricity 220v, lots of space, bbq, a nice wooden table, place for dishes, bathroom clean, cold shower (helps A LOT in this weather 🔥).
We were the only one sleeping but some people came by during the day.
It can be a little noisy during the night because it is close to Ruta 5 - PanAm Highway
Report Check-InThe camping was closed. We slept in good COPEC 30KM after camping. Good option if camping was closed.
Report Check-InCorreto como descrito, excelente camping, limpo, e toda estrutura....
Report Check-InWas closed when we wanted to stay. A Saturday too. No idea why it should be closed during the summer?

Report Check-InNice campsite. We came at 19.30 and opened the gate by ourselves (was not locked). Light (220V) and water at each site. Close to Panam Highway. Bathrooms and showers were closed. We paid 4000 chp for the site next morning.
Report Check-InNice campsite. Toilets and showers were closed when we were here. A little close to Panam Highway.
Report Check-Invery friendly guard; they gave us some flyer for the park, the geoglifos pintados and vulcan Isluga; camping 4000 CLP per site; hotel foreign/locals 5500/4500 CLP pP
Report Check-InCamping is now here, on the western side of highway 5 (quite close to the main road, but not noisy). They came to collect 4000pesos and register us for the night. Great facilities for being out in the desert. Electricity, lights, palapa, running water, cold showers, and finishing toilets... and trees! You don't see many of those out here. I think the dog hanging around out here might be a little crazy. It's friendly enough, but has some very odd behaviours...
Report Check-InThe2Dutch. The camping is new and at the right side of the road, coming from Pozo Almonte. We pay 4000 for 2 persons,, incl. Electricity and water. Toilets and shower ladies OK but gentleman dirty and wet on the floor. Big places with shadow of trees.
Report Check-InPaid 4000 to camp for two people in a car. Only ones camping.
Camp in little enclosures with electricity, light and fire pit. Toilet block with cold showers looks new but was somehow flooded while we were here!
Friendly dogs.
