This is a big green area at the turn out to parque Las Canastas. We stayed here several times with others overlanders and also alone. At night the road is quiet. During the day some climbers; and locals picnicking at the weekend. Police said is safe. You might use the toilet in the family restaurant by the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Spent two nights here. First night I rolled in right at sunset and there was a guy in all black sitting in the bushes. Kinda sketchy, but the two other vans in the in the spot said there are lots of people in this city on all kinds of drugs. Decided to stay, was fine. There’s also a guy that is stoned out of his mind or something… just stands by the road all day. I never saw him anywhere else when I arrived or left each day. Weird vibes all around. Super trashy. Dead dog in the bushes…
I stayed a little further up the tiny road the second night. Tucked out of sight. Still lots of trash but felt safer.
Report Check-InDidn't stay at this exact location, as we were scared it was a bit too close to the road. We drove down the dirt road maybe about 100 meters and found a large grassy pull out near the river. About halfway to the other marked camping spot 'eco park entrance gate'. Super quiet.
Report Check-InNice quiet spot. Stayed 2 nights and had no issues. Rains a lot. Soccer game here on Sunday afternoon, sheep grazing at points. Quiet and friendly. Dogs loved it.
stayed one night. there is a schoolbus camper parked here as well which seems to be here already some time. quiet at night. the collectivo passes right at the bridge next to the place so might be easy to get in the city from here.
Report Check-InIt's still possible to camp there. Probably there are some Locals at the weekend but it's quiet at night. A bit trashy though.
Report Check-InStayed there for 3 nights, nobody else around. Cops came by to make sure everything was okay. No amnesties but hey it’s free and really quiet
