Nice campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway. No showers. 20$ for tents or RVs. Highly rated 1-mile hike to waterfall from campground. Dump station $3, no available electricity July 2023.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice camp ground with highly rated one mile hike to a waterfall. Very quiet less than 20% full when we were here. Dump station available.
Report Check-InTurns out the campground is open, just not in the off season. There was a notice of activities in the campground kiosk dated from August 2022. So check the website for reservations and when it’s open.
Report Check-InCampground still closed, but the parking lot appears to have plenty of space to boondock if need be. The information building looks abandoned the whole place looks neglected. Portolets are in the parking area.
Report Check-InCampsite is open. We did not stay but drive around and there were a few RV spots taken but mostly empty. Many spots for tent camping too. All of them open as far as i could tell. It all seems to be first come and you pay at the gate. There is also firewood for sale there.
Report Check-InNice spot right off BRP about halfway between Asheville and Boone. Nice hike to the falls. Bathrooms were a little small (not sure how accessible it is for wheelchairs, but if you don’t use a wheelchair you’ll have a good amount of space). $20 a night.
Report Check-InI have not been here. However, let me add a note: don't confuse this with Crabtree Falls in Virginia near the parkway on rte53 (pretty close to Charlottesville & Lynchburg.) Those are spectacular falls & there are some excellent free camping spots at the top if your vehicle has okay clearance.
Report Check-InTypical BRP campground. Great staff/hosts, and central location to several sites on Parkway. Very weak cell service with Veriaon. Note: this campsite now takes reservations online, though there were plenty of available sites when I checked in.
Report Check-InThe gate is closed and there is a sign saying “closed”. No notice as to when it may be open again.
Report Check-InAll other campgrounds in the area were already full. This one had plenty of space left, as they are not on the online booking system. Around 100 sites available.
Report Check-InCampground was closed in April. According to brochure (which I got later) all campgrounds on Blue Ridge Parkway are open only May through October.
