Close to swakopmund, camp site is nice the owner is super friendly.
I paid 180N$/p stay one night.

Is very nice Campsite. We stay 4 Nights her. Is near tow Swakopmund . The Owner is very friendly and the Restaurant is very good ❤️

Price is now 170N$ppn. A decade or 2 ago this was probably a nice place, but everything feels a bit dated and overpriced now. Basic ablutions and almost impossible to get the right temperature in the shower (or way too hot, or ice cold). Small camping sites with some trees but not so easy for rooftop tents or bigger rigs. Quite some noise from cars on the main road to Windhoek a bit further. Might be better than the other options in town, but we won’t go there anymore.

Report Check-In

150 nad pppn. Shared ablutions, clean. Lots of shade, some areas have room for roof top tents to fit under shade. Electricity at sites. WiFi only really works at reception (sites 9/10/11 can get a little) mtc signal okay. Friendly owner and three friendly dogs :)

After driving through a foggy, cold and windy Swakobmund, we were so happily surprised this campsite was warm and sunny. Restaurant has good food for a fair price. Owners really friendly. Only minus: It's feels like a city camping cause you don't have a view, but it is green and shady. And it is close to the main road.

Report Check-In

fine camp, we are alone although a lot of sites camp empties. ablution block ok. we paid 150 ppn. pleasant location and environnent. a lot of birds...

Report Check-In

Nice campground with big sandy sites suitable for big rigs. Restrooms are ok. Weather is much better here than closer to the ocean. Road noise is acceptable. 4G MTC Signal. 140 NAD p.P.

Report Check-In

great campsite just a little outside Swakopmund - very friendly & helpful owners (& dogs), nice shady and anti-fog sites and clean, lighted abolutions. Mostly sunny if the city is foggy and awesome fish dinner served. We stayed two nights during our visit in Swakopmund, and would definitely recommend both the Restaurant and campsite. German speaking as well. Nice cottages available too, although we didn't stay in one. Road is rather close but was not noisy at night. Price still 140 pp, restaurant approx 400 NAD dinner for two (would have been enough for 3-4, very delicious).

Report Check-In

We stayed here as campsites in Swakop were too cold to stay at. Nice camping spot, ablutions rather industrial but very clean. Owner very friendly (so are the 2 dogs on site :). Plenty of shade. Rate still at 140 NAD pppn. Noise from road is quite high in the night.

Report Check-In

We stayed there for four nights in one of their chalets because the campground was fully booked. Really good location a little bit outside of Swakopmund. Well, the B2 mainroad could become a little bit noisy but in sum Sophia Dale is a very good base if you want not to stay in the town. Also the German owners are very friendly and there restaurant is really good!

Report Check-In

price raised at 140 NAD ppn
Le prix est passé à 140 NAD par personne. camping relativement calme mais proche de la route principale et ses camions.

Report Check-In

Very good campground. WiFi at reception and the spots closest to it. Excellent restaurant!

Report Check-In

Camping is still 130 pppn.

I camped on an extra plot because it was already fully booked.
Nice owners running the camp.

The main road is indeed noisy.
But therefore a good spot to escape from
Chilli & foggy swakop.

Wifi is slow and Access is only close to the reception building. Running from 07.00 to 20.00.

Cool camping with fences of bamboo! Comunal toilet with hot hot hot shower (in all over Namibia is a challenge fibd the right temperature hahaha), site 20 doesn't have electricity and water! Free wifi at reception. You can also buy beers (20N and so on) and wine (from 88N) at the restaurant in case is sunday and all liquors are closed! No windy no foggy! 130pppn! Nice staff!

Report Check-In

Free wifi from 7am to 8pm. Own table, sitting area and light. Fire spot. Covered areas. $130pppn. A lot of noise from the main road. It was good for a nights stay away from Swakopmund and the high prices there but wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer. Hot water. Clean facilities. No views or anything spectacular about it.

Report Check-In

All good things are said already and there's really nothing bad to say. If Swakop and Walvis is covered with heavy fog the whole day, then it's sunny weather here.

Report Check-In

Big places for truckcamper also, small shaded sittingplaces, clean ablution, hot shower, dishwashingplace and a good restaurant.

Report Check-In

Nice camp about 11k outside of Swakop. Cooler than other places in the desert which is why we came. The site with the bamboo cover just barely fits our Landy with rooftop. Can access reception WiFi from here. None elsewhere available. Good food at restaurant. $100pppn when you stay a week.

Report Check-In

Clean campsites. Some have water and electricity. Wifi at reception. Toilets and showers clean. Restaurant onsite. Owner is a German butcher and sells game salami and meat cuts vacuum sealed.

Please note that not all water taps are potable. We were at a sight with no water so went to fill our tank near the ablutions, to find out it is salt water. Had to fully empty our tanks and start over. It was not marked that it was different water from the rest of the water offered on the property. Otherwise a very nice stay!

Report Check-In

Nice spot, large sites. Prices are now @ ND130 a person/night.

Report Check-In

Dusty spots. Very clean. Restaurant quite ok. Very friendly staff and owners. The nearby main road can be a little noisy in the early morning, but still we recharged our own batteries.
Internet very slow.

Report Check-In

better to stay at manni on sophia dale than in cold and foggy swakopmund campsides. very good and cheap restaurant, manni is a german butcher!

Report Check-In

The owner is a German butcher and stocks quite a variety of meat at fair prices. We went for delicious smoked oryx and game salami.

Report Check-In

Pitches with screen for wind protection and picnic table on well maintained sandy terrain with trees.
