What a fantastic place to camp. Great sites, all with a tap , power and a braai. Staff are wonderful , ablutions spotless and cannot fault it. In a leopard protected area too which is great . Also the Wild Card is accepted even though it’s a Cape Parks reserve . Cost for 2 people and a big rig truck , with a wild card was R210 for the night in total

Stunning Camp between the mountains. Highly recommended spot. Power & Water and beautiful spot to swim in the river. One of my favourite spots 5star

Report Check-In

Excellent campsite. Sites 20 through 22 are the ones to book. Avoid the sites on the main river (40 -46) for the moment as they are across the river from remedial work being done to the campsite following.

We camped somewhere else as the App said Algeria was closed, but drove past here this morning, had a look round and spoke to staff reception. Definitely open and what a great place! Should have stayed there...will next time

This is the Algeria campsite by CapeNature. One of our favorite campsites so far. It's amazingly maintained for a national park campsite, so impressed! Beautiful big stands among the trees, mountains and river each with a braai place, table and water tap. Power at most sites. Lovely ablutions with piping hot water, shower gel/shampoo and toilet paper etc. Kitchen scullery/laundry area and there's another main kitchen room with a microwave and kettle etc. Lots of hikes and mountain biking trails nearby (do the waterfall!). Unfortunately they've suffered a lot of flood damage so half the campsites are unusable at the moment while they rebuild. You have to take a jeep track the long way around to reach the campsites currently (4x4 recommended). Hopefully fixed soon! Beware of naughty baboons and mongooses, and genets at night- do not leave ANY food unattended! price is 200per night for the site during off peak, and 480 during peak (public holidays, WC school holidays). Conservation fee for the park is waived if youve got a wild card. Small shop at reception and maps etc, they take card. Highly recommend.

Big campground but all campsites are quite big and it gives a feel of privacy. Ablutions are clean but there was no hot shower for us. Maybe due to loadshedding... We paid 200 per night for a site in low season, wich was very cheap ! Power and tap water available at each site. Also, if you stay at the campground, you get free permit to hike every trails that starts from Algeria campground. So its a big bonus as permits are not cheap ! 4G with MTN (but not during loadshedding). A troop of baboons comes regularly so hide your food and garbage if you dont wanna get into troubles. You can buy a few things at reception, like firewood.
Very nice place in low season, we were 2 or 3 cars max the whole time.

Really nice campsite. We were there in off season, so we were nearly alone. Just two tents far away. Quiet and peaceful with great mountain view. We did the Arch trail and it was amazing. Absolute worth. You have to climb over rocks in the beginning of the cracks, but you have stunning views and surroundings.

"Peak season price" is R420 which is too much for if you are a solo traveler or two people for what you get.

Quite a large campsite on bank of river and up towards mountains behind. Nice place lots of shade from trees, each site has water, seating area, braii and electric point. Ablutions are nice and clean with hot showers. Pool in river for swimming in and a nice cool off.
We paid 180 rand per campsite but this increased to 340 rand while we were here as it became peak time all these prices are plus 60 rand per person per day conservation fees. We had a wild card so didn't pay these.
Nice hiking trails from campsite, wood and ice available at reception and you can order fresh bread that is delivered to you camp.
Can get busy with families from Capetown at weekend and holidays

Report Check-In

Nice campsite around small river with swimmingpool. Reduced off- season price: 180 Zar. Baboons are strolling around, so keep your car/tent closed!

Report Check-In

Quite large and nice Campsite. We stayed on site number 16 which is secluded and a spotted Genet is roaming around there. We paid 180R instead of 300R as it is low season.

Report Check-In

Nice European style campsite, unfortunately overcrowded during holidays, 370 ZAR for up to 6 persons, plus entrance fee 60 ZAR pp, We turned around because they offered us the last vacant spot.
