Nice spots in the Tahoe National Forest right next to a river. Lots of space, very quiet, away from the road. After driving around for a long time looking for a free place to stay in Tahoe, this was a great option. The other spots in Tahoe either open at the end of May (a week away from now) or have "No Overnight Parking" signs. No amenities here. Please keep it clean!

Overall, a nice little spot. We pulled in close to last light and setup camp for the night in our two cars. Very quiet spot off the road, tucked away. There were No Camping signs recently posted on the tree, that we respectfully ignored. There are 5-6 additional spots along this road easily accessible with a standard 2wd car. Most of those also had no camping sign. During our night, there were two other campsites with a car at them. This particular location is flat, level, had cell reception on Verizon/TMobile/AT&T, and I’d recommend it for a night or so along your way. Be kind, be respectful, pack-in - pack-out. See photos. Report Check-InGreat campsite. ATT service. Seems like not many people know about this road, let’s keep it that way
Report Check-InStayed in the nice private site on the right just passed this pin, beautiful forested site but terrible mosquitoes!
Report Check-InEasy drive, 1-2 bars of ATT 5GE. Prius could easily handle smooth dirt road. A few mosquitoes as there is now a bit of standing water in the green meadow.
Report Check-InAmazing spot! Beautiful view! Super easy dirt road that a Prius can make it into. Room for four or so tightly packed vehicles could park in the pullout section. Quiet! Amosquitoes
Report Check-InClosed! The whole corridor from Truckee to Tahoe City is closed to overnight camping other than in developed campgrounds. There is a map posted at the start of this road showing the boundaries of the closure.
Report Check-InNice spot but you need a 4WD ... really not accessible for big rig.
Report Check-InStayed at 2nd pullout on this rd, before no camping sign, quiet for both nights, no problems. Only road could find that didn’t prohibit camping after Nov. 1st.
Spot wasn’t exactly level but good enough.
Report Check-InI stayed at a bigger pullout before the mark. There are 2 nicer sites away from the road, but there is also now a sign “no camping” and “keep the forest/water clean. Anyhow, I parked before the sign and it was very quiet and peaceful, good cell service for T-mobile.
Report Check-InVery nice quiet place to camp for free around Tahoe. Was able to find a site big enough to set up my patriot camper trailer. Surrounded by trees.
Report Check-InAwesome area, lots of nice wooded campsites. We really enjoyed our time here. Close to Truckee and Tahoe City.
