This is a nice quiet spot not too far from richmond. Large parking area, a bit sloped. Shade from trees. Grassy area for tents. Not sure if camping is officially allowed but we had no issues for a night. Kayakers came in the morning to launch their boats.

Beautiful location but there is a sign here now stating NO CAMPING. not staying over night I hate getting the knock in the middle of the night. But you never know may still be ok for one night. Check photo of sign

Report Check-In

Sign says No Camping. Open for boat launch only.

Report Check-In

Great spot off the road. Plenty of parking. Quiet once traffic settles down. Stayed one night

Report Check-In

Didn't have any trouble finding this place. It's right off the road, so there was a bit of traffic noise, but overall, very quiet. It's a gravel lot that isn't very level, and there's a pretty big lip going from the paved road to the gravel lot, but it's easy enough to navigate even in total darkness. Stayed overnight, and we were the only ones there. No issues whatsoever. (:

Report Check-In

Pretty decent spot for a night. Relatively quiet at night. There are no signs whatsoever around this boat launch and parking lot. There's only about 2 or 3 level spots but the lot is large enough for multiple vehicles and still have privacy. 1 bar Verizon but very fast speeds. Was not bothered.

Report Check-In

Quiet and conveniently located. Had another van parked up on grass near fence staying also. Parked on gravel near river under trees. Not many level spots. Very peaceful even on a Saturday night.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet spot near the creek. The silent remoteness was a nice change of pace from driving on interstate 95. Pretty flat and stable, had enough parking for 30+ vans but we had it to ourselves.

Report Check-In

I travel to see daughter at college this weekend In Richmond and needed a nice place to relax with the Van overnight. I arrived about 10:00 a.m. and there has been nobody out here. Couple of cars traveling back-and-forth on the adjacent road but you can also hear the babble of the river which should be nice tonight. Sprint T-Mobile works pretty good and I can bring up hulu without any interruptions.

Nice stay overnight. Next to local main road but quiet at night. Lovely grass area for dogs to play and next to river. We were only ones there. In the morning a few local work trucks used area for day parking. But no problems at all.

Report Check-In

I was here for a few hours. Confident it would have been fine for the night but my cell signal wasn't great so I moved on. There is a sign that says not to be there unless you're putting in or pulling out a boat but I'd be shocked if anybody ever bothered you about it

Report Check-In

Patrick Henry Landing. Spent one night here. The area was nice and quiet except for the traffic on the road. The bridge amplifies the road traffic but it was bearable.

Full AT&T signal, one bar of Verizon.

Report Check-In

Stopped here for a night en route south. It is as previously described. I found a very level spot. No one around and no noise except for the traffic from the road. Cell service (T-mobile) wasn't good but fine with booster.

Report Check-In

A little tricky to find in the dark but we woke up to a beautiful grassy area next to the river. there are spots that are pretty flat a little further from the river. water facilities employee showed up in the morning but gave us no problem.

Report Check-In

Great little spot. No noise overnight. Plenty of shade and a nice little spot by the river

Report Check-In

We loved this spot in our 25' Sprinter Van, Freddie-Mercede. No bugs. No light. Quiet. Level. Kayakers were taking out their boats when we arrived around 7:00pm. We were the only ones who stayed the night & it was lovely.

Report Check-In

Decent spot for a night. Some traffic on road overnight, but not too bad. Nice access to the river and grassy area to hang out for a bit. On Saturday some local folks around using ramp and fishing. No one bothered us. AT&T works well. Space for any size rig.

Report Check-In

Right off highway 54. It passes a water treatment facility so drive past that and you’ll come to a large, open parking area. Great place to stay for the night. Nice and level for vans and rigs. Some road noise around 10 pm from cars still on the highway.

Report Check-In

Excellent spot, very quiet. We spent 1 night here with our big rig.
