It's a campground in the Yellowstone National Park. Very central, so you can start from here your day trips. The campground is 20$ per night, with water and flushable toilet- no electricity or showers. It's a come-first, serve-first campground. I stayed here on the 4 July, so the campground was full from 8:30am!! The campground has also "walk in sites". So if you are a hiker or a bicycler and you stay there, the fee is only 5$
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Be here by 6am at the latest if you want a spot. There will be a massive queue of people wanting a spot and only a few campsites available. The rangers told people to put a folding chair out in a line outside the office door, but you do need to be with it so bring a blanket. They are very organised and fair about handing out the campsites and patience is key. We were in a spot by 9.20am after arriving at 5.30 so be prepared to wait for many hours.
Report Check-InWe did self check in, they have a map of what’s available, really organized. Pretty quiet camp ground during our visit.
