Description

Follow the good side road with a sign for 'police training' which takes you to the base of the mountain. No people around, and it's far from the main road so quiet at night. The police training camp is perhaps further on the other side of the mountain; I didn't meet any police. You can park out of sight of the access road on a nice flat piste. Beautiful nature but the mosquitoes were extremely ferocious after dark.

Latest Check-Ins

We just stopped for a brunch/coffee, but it is indeed a very beautiful spot. When we were here the road ended in a giant swamp at the base of the mountain, thus all the mozzies! No problem during the day. One friendly guy passed by while we were here.

Very beautiful spot! We went at the top of the hill, better view and less smelly (Swamp). We did not see a soul.
Lot of mosquitos.

This is the car park to climb up the mountain and into a huge cave inside (see Google maps for pictures, it’s recorded as a location).
Gruta is the Portuguese word for cave in case anybody asks what your doing there.
Gunshots at dusk when I stayed, seems the police camp is used for weapons training at times, see Google maps pictures again.
All fine, camped on the track just around to the right where it opens up a bit. Brilliant view.

Beautiful spot, no one around and very quiet at night (completely hidden and easily accessible down good gravel road/track).....

...but half the mosquitos in Angola come here to party every night. Some of them are clever little f#@kers and know how to get through the nets on our skylights to enable them to enjoy a post party bite to eat.

We stay here. On the Track, take on the right side and the big place is to 50m on your right. We seen nobody.

Report Check-In

Take the first left after turning onto the police training center road and it will Take you on a nice level dirt loop road where you can park of sight. There's one "parking lot" with room for several vehicles. This was such a scenic, peaceful place that we spent 2 nights. We didn't see anyone during our stay.
