Update July 2022: not possible to stay here for overlanders
This is already on iOverlander but only as a hotel and camping. Decided to put as a campground because they are open to all kinds of rigs too, vans and motorhome. The road going in is a little rough but it’s only 300 meters and our 22f motorhome went down easily. We got stuck at the steel cable at the entrance and broke all our sewer system. But no problem since the owner helped us fix everything the same night! They also have diner and breakfast. The price is voluntary as they say or you pay what you think you should.
Super nice place with cows, alpacas and three dogs. Lots of space!!
(Note - there is another entrance beyond the large sign coming from rainbow mountain just before the bend in the road and before the river - this is how we entered the site after instruction).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
NOT POSSIBLE to stay here, we were first told that it’s okay, and then the night guard tells us we have to leave. Very unfriendly.
Report Check-InThis is a great place with very helpful owner!
It is huge! There is a hostel and a huge camping area where you can pitch up your tent under the roof. There are a lot of toilets and showers. We were there with our small motorhome. I think they are not really used to motorhome, so he was a bit unsure where to let us park. There is definitely enough space and in the end he put us next to the huge tent area where also the toilets and showers are. It is really nice and quiet place on the river. Everything very clean, but we were the only guests. Close to rainbow mountains.
We stayed here for one night. Not recommended. Road was very noisy throughout the night, shared a bathroom with the staff - very dirty.
Report Check-InWe arrived around 4pm with our bikes. Hostel empty but they told us it was full, we ask if we could put the tent, as it is also a camping place, and they said no. 🤷🏼♀️
Report Check-InWhat a shame. The place is closed for renovation. We gave the owner a ring and we couldn't even stay the night without using any facilities. :(
Report Check-InNo. No friendly for Overlanders. No nice, no helpful people. Just Hostal wich requieres before 1 month reservation.
No recomended. We stop and ask and was not a good experience.
We came and they were full in the hostel so it was weird coz we didnt have answer
After asking they said yes to have dinner but they told us 15 each. I said it was 10 in overlander and finally they didn’t charge anything at all
So nice at the end
I think they were too busy with this group the had.
The shower was not hot
Report Check-InWe stayed near the blue shelter in our van. The dogs didn't cause us any trouble allthough the owners did warn us for one of them (Blue). Beautiful place, lovely people. Payment is still 'su voluntariedad'.
Report Check-InYes, how others already wrote, very nice place with brand new showers and bathrooms. We camped here, and could pay what we wanted. BUT; when i wanted to ask someone if it’s possible to camp here, and went to their house, one of the dogs bit me. When we told it to the owner, she wasn’t very surprised and told us, just to stay by the tent and close to the blue shelter. Otherwise the dog will bite... ?!
Report Check-InGreat place, very friendly owners, hot shower, nice dinner for 10 soles, hot fresh or bags tea included. should be WiFi in the hostal that you can use, however it wasn’t working when we were there. Beautiful farm animals including alpacas. Just a nice and quiet place to stay.
Report Check-InStopped here after a wet and snowy walk up to rainbow mountain in the pouring rain. To echo other comments, the site was lovely. Large grounds to park our van. Ilda, the welcoming owner, allowed us to use one of the bathrooms in one of the rooms of the hotel which was clean. (There was a warm shower available but we didn’t use it.) When we asked about possibly having dinner, Ilda kindly accepted- we were the only two overlanders so she invited us to eat in her kitchen with her daughter (Lea, who was also lovely). Price is the same, 10sol pp for a really good home-cooked meal! You still pay what you want for the campsite as payment is voluntary. At the time we were here, there was a large blue shelter for tents to camp in - looked very warm and dry even in the pouring rain - highly recommend it to anyone cycling etc. 3 friendly dogs on site (Camille, Ta-Tang, and Blue), chickens, turkeys, and sheep. All in all had a very good night’s sleep and would highly recommend to others.
(Note - at the time we visited, early construction was underway for a large separate shower/toilet unit for the campsite. No noise :) )
Report Check-InGreat little place off the main road. We pitched our tent on the football pitch next to the llamas. Meals offered for s10pp. We had breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both. Payment by donation, we gave s30 for 2 of us. Clean bathroom, no shower. 3 big dogs, friendly but get a bit rowdy at night.
