Off of 158. There are a couple dozen camp sites in National Forest land on a dirt road. Free and easy to get to. Great way to escape Vegas heat.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Others descriptions are accurate enough for what I can tell. We have a 23ft MH, so we stopped at the first place. There is a sizeable dip we felt we probably would drag our rear. A taller or shorter vehicle would probably be fine. The first two places before that are not level, but slant so we had a hard time trying to scoop up a few piles of gravel to sit on for level to slide out our bed. Works fine for overnight. Very much cooler than Death Valley! 😄 Even though the sun was obscured all day by smoke. Nice night wind here and will probably be in the mid 50s tonight. I'm happy to have this place and even to ourselves as of 8:30pm.
Report Check-InGreat spot amongst trees to camp out. Much cooler than Vegas so prepare. Lots of spots. Don’t need 4wd.
Report Check-InBig parking lot with restrooms, alongside the road so you hear the traffic. No lights and surrounded by trees. Can get busy (saturday night), trail is close. Picnic tables around
