Description

This place is fun to arrive and stay at. The super-friendly Colombian family is eager to receive overlanders, and their happy exuberance is contagious. We felt very welcome from the moment we drove up to the restaurant, and they all came out to greet us.

Julio, the son, has big plans and assured us that he will build better bathroom facilities for overlanders. Right now, there are two toilets inside the restaurant and a rather crude shower in a different building. All are accessible 24/7.

The site offers ocean views from the bluff and a somewhat adventurous hike down to the beach.

I may probably write the similar or share eliotcg opinion about this place: Right words!!
Bad feng-shui, place where I slept was a complete crap (they didn't charge for it) and food or breakfast was nothing special.
I cant hide that Roberto/Gladys/Carolina where nice, but there was a hidden energy that for others was not important, I felt it strong and I just wanted to leave. Nontheless I joined for a pray and decided to stay.
If you do the same, rather fix your tent away from the highway or set your RV watching the sea.

Report Check-In

very hospitable family. 20 soles per vehicle. The food was very good and plenty. Unfortunately, considering there is no selection, it is far too expensive. We wanted to fill up some water, but there was hardly any pressure so we stopped. 10 soles for 40 liters of water.

This is still a good place to stay. We arrived around 5pm. Place looked closed but we’re greeted when we got out of the car. Camped behind a closed gate w access to a clean bathroom. There was a shower but we didn’t use it. Some road noise but otherwise a quiet evening. Flat parking. No height restrictions. Nice dogs (2) and nice people. A good breakfast with homemade strawberry preserves that we gave them the evening before.

Would stay again.

safe place, good food and a very pleasant conversation. extremely recommended.

Report Check-In

As per previous comments, Gladys and Roberto are amazing humans. They love travelers and we were felt very welcome.

The area is really big, facilities inside the building. We received breakfast and coffee in the morning. We paid 20sol total for 2 people and a small but beautiful van (see picture!)

The location is perfect, about 130km from the craziness of Lima.

Report Check-In

We have just stopped to greet the family for 5 minutes, while we were cycling but we ended up staying 1 hour talking and taking coffee. Super friendly family ❤️

Roberto and Gladys are wonderful! We paid $ 20 soles a day by camping (2 people and a kombi).

Ficamos duas noites. Você pode curtir o pôr do sol no Pacífico. Recomendo a todos

Still a good place! Very friendly family. Toilets and rooms are very basic but ok.

Happy to meet a colombian family ! Felizes to encontrar colombianos !

Report Check-In

an ideal place for motorhome with lots of space and if you like with sea views. the attentive owners will help you in any way they can and will be happy to receive travelers. Traveler recycling point, if you have clothes, books, material that you do not use, you can leave it here.

Report Check-In

Quiet and friendly place to stay. Big sandy area to park your vehicle on. Choose your spot. Very friendly hosts. Contrary to what was said below, I found the dinner quite inexpensive, considering prices in restaurants and groceries in Peru in general.

Report Check-In

Really safe and friendly place to rest, when travelling the PanAm. Roberto and Gladys are great hosts. Motorcycles park inside the lounge, all other kinds of vehicles inside the compound. A few basic rooms to rent, protecting you from the cold and wind if you don't feel like putting up a tent. They offer you meals, coffee/tea and their friendship. If you don't need to overnight, at least stop for a coffee and a good talk. The doors of the compound are shut, but they're always there: just knock!

Nice time we spend here

Buena ruta!

The best place a traveler can find on the route. Although it seems to be closed, they welcome travelers and you can eat, camp or rent a room.

The Rancho Grande looks closed but it is still open for travelers who are looking for a nice and secure place to stay. You just have to knock on the door until someone notices.

Restaurante estacionamiento estaban cerrada. No hay ningún aviso.

As they say, a very nice and welcoming family. Food very tastefully and you can just choose a place and be yourself. They treat you like a friend who came back from a trip, and want you to come back again! Three dogs who are quiet and It’s nice cool at night and no muquitoes. It is high ion dunes so the beach is far away, it is quite a hike, steep but doable.

Report Check-In

Sairmos cedo e a proprietária deixou o portão encostado.

Report Check-In

Totally agree with previous posts. Toilets were clean. You should try the Ceviche. Had a great time.

Report Check-In

Hmmmm....mixed opinions on this one. The place really is crap, you need a rope to get down to the beach and the bathrooms were embarrassing but the family were lovely, as are most Colombians we've met. We spent the evening chatting with them, it was lovely night. But then came the bill the following morning....they properly robbed us. 20 soles for the night (no WiFi and bathrooms you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy), 10 soles for each beer and 30 soles for a bit of fried chicken and rice for one. We felt properly robbed. It's like being mugged on the street by someone with a friendly smile.

Report Check-In

The friendly Colombian family definitely helps you overlook the grubby toilet and shower (we did not use it). We never did get any wifi though we asked. (Our Movistar signal was fine.) Dogs are friendly. The parking is secure behind a locked gate. The view of the Pacific is stunning. 20 soles per night per vehicle and 5 soles extra for electricity. The place needs some work but the super friendly hosts are worth a visit.

Report Check-In

Was quite surprised with potential of this place, kinda like it here, you can take any place you like, overlooking the ocean is superb. But the most important The Colombian family, whos own the place its most friendlies people you can meet on panam. You can walk down to the beach. Toilets and shower at the restaurant building. Not much noise from panam if u are close to the cliff. Sand is ok to drive, but careful.

Report Check-In

Still a great spot to stop on the way down the coast. Friendly Colombian guy chatted with us for a while. Some road noise but you can park way back off the road far from the noise if you prefer. S/20 per van, not per person. Toilets.

Report Check-In

we have spent one night here with our motorhome.
the family is very friendly.
on the site you can park where you want just pay attention to the sand.
the sunset is fantastic and we had an excellent view on the ocean. it is possible to go to the ocean but the access is not very easy. it is so high and sandy !!!
we were far from the panamericana but we Can hear the trucks.
20soles for the vehicle and nothing more. so, a little bit expensive !

Good point to rest near Lima. 20 Soles/day by RV with 2persons. No Wi-Fi. If you need water to fill up your tank is necessary some extra payment (20 Soles to charge), ask before use. Safe and calm.

Super friendly columbian family running this restaurant with a lot of love. There are toilets and a cold shower to use, and the restaurant offers excellent food. We ate dinner and breakfast there, so she said we didn’t have to pay the extra 20 for the camping.
Very recommended if you speak some Spanish and want to meet amazing people:)

Most welcoming family and a nice safe location south of Lima. We had breakfast in the restaurant for 15 Sol each and received coffee, a fruit smoothie, chicarron (thick pork ribs with the bacon attached), sweet potato, toa
stem bread and pickled salad...muy rico

The place is not really a campground, than a big flat place behind a restaurant.
It's a little bit noisy from the trucks on the Panamericana, but the place is fenced and the owners are very friendly.
We got electricity and water ( needs to be filtered).
Overnight for two people and car was 20;- Soles.
