Description

Quiet street with ocean view in safe barranco neighborhood. Camped in the car here for several nights with no problem. A few blocks south there is another park where a lot of overlanders were also camping. An art gallery/ cafe nearby had super nice bathrooms we were able to use. There’s also a metro supermarket nearby with bathrooms for 50 centimos.

We aren’t very welcome. A security agent came to us because neighbours complains about campers. But we explained that one’s in hospital (it was true) for few hours. So they late us park. So I think in the futur it will be a problem to park here

Really nice place with a van in a big city! Stayed 1 night and it felt completely safe.
Nice view!
Slept with earplugs, because a few cars & motos were passing by until late and very early in the morning.

You need to be completely self-sufficient.

Enjoy :)

Really Nice spot! Awesome view. We stay here for 7 days. Safe and nobody bother us. We left the car full day alone and nothing happens. We tried not to be loud, only open our windows. We asked the police and they said no problem to be here, only on the yellow strip that we can’t be.

You're not allowed to park here anymore. Some neighbor called to make a complaint to the municipality and then Police came to wake us up and told us to move on.

Very good spot ! Free, safe and nice ! We spent 3 nights here. Police around. This neighborhood is very nice. We could see the sea from our spot 😉

Great place for one night and then a super annoying woman came by to lecture us that you can't park a camper here. bla bla. just a case of rich people being scared that something out of the ordinary will happen in their neighbourhood. We rented an apartment and only needed one night, but maybe the place up the road, which is also marked would ve fine. There are also plenty of quiet streets around here.

Street parking opposite expensive apartments overlooking a small grass area with bushes and flowers.
Fabulous sea view.
Easily room for a MAN 7.7m long, 2.5m wide, 3.5m high big rig
Welcoming wealthy Peruvians as neighbours. One woman started moaning after me and a smart USA long wheelbase van hd been there for four nights.
We were moving anyway
Safe and quiet at night.

Good view, nice sound of the ocean. Felt safe and is was quite enough. We parked some meters south with 2 cars from Argentina. During day & night police men were walking and driving by very often. Recommended.

excellent place, incredible sunsets, we got quarantined there and we had to spend 2 weeks inside the motorhome we could go to another place, we could only go out to go shopping

Very good place, quiet for town.
After 2 nights, the third it's not ok.
Others overlands came and a girl who lives here said that it's forbiden and call police.
We have to move.

Barranco is one of the preferred barrios of Lima and as others have said you'll be totally safe here. We stayed on a Saturday night and it was quite noisy, as you'd expect in a city. Barrio San Isidro is worth checking out too - another well to do residencial zone where you shouldn't have too much problem finding somewhere to park.

Report Check-In

Note: this is just a public street and is far up above the ocean. We came here thinking it would be a beach-side camp but it's not. Ok for one night but lots of people and cars passing by.

We spend here one night, really safe and quiet. Recommended.

We sleep here one night, we feel safe all the night, the same night come other truck of travelers. Recommended!
