Description

Blue creek surrounded by mountains and dry pines. Great view and few spots along the river.
Bumpy and dusty road, require 4W when wet. We can hear cars on highway, but traffic isn’t intense.

Great spot this winter with very little snow in the valley. Easy and short drive in off the highway.

Magnifique emplacement en bord de rivière. Très tranquille. Parfait pour se reposer en sortant du parc. 4x4 conseillé

Perfect and beautiful spot by the river. Surrounded by mountains, great views. At night very quite, no noise from the road. There are many spots with firepits.
Road dusty, can be a problem when it's raining.

Beautiful location right off highway. A little rutted but I saw a minivan go further down the road with no problem. 14 day stay limit for free. Traffic noise, but not a big problem. Gorgeous views right on the river.

Report Check-In

A lot of sites with river views. If you go all the way down the trail/road you can find some privacy. 4x4 when wet, extremely bumpy.

Wonderful place with very nice view on the river and mountains. We stay here 2 nights, it was perfect! There are some fireplace. The road is bumpy and dusty, be careful with a 2wd.

Very beautiful spot near Banff & Jasper. Many places here to stay with a tent or a camper. For a RV I think it is more complicated to get it. Beautiful sunset. There is a sign in the entrance said it is allowed to stay for free up to 14 days

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot. Just as described, probably 6-10 spots right on the river. Gorgeous mountain valley views. Spoke to some locals—please keep this place clean. It is public land, and in years past it has gotten littered with trash. This year, there is no trash. Please help keep it that way! - Colorado, USA

Beautiful Sites close to Banff and Jasper NPs. We saw a black bear off the highway, but he never paid us a visit through the night. Depending on how far down the path you go, recommend 4WD if wet. There are plenty of spots along the road, with fire rings, and right next to the water. Good spots for tents and overlanding. We didn't see any bigger rigs, but you might be able to get in with some ground clearance. 10/10 way to spend the night before solstice!

we stayed on a weeknight in early May. there were two other vans already there. Plenty of space but not very private. spectacular views! biggest mosquitoes I've ever seen (only around sunset).

Beautiful place, surrounded by mountains and dry pines. Few spots along the glacial river, far enough from each other, with fire pits. Bumpy and very dusty road and area, fairly easy to find dry wood. 2W when dry, 4W when wet.

Report Check-In

Great spot(s) overlooking the river. Plenty of choice and a lot of fire pits available. A fair bit away from the road. Quite bumpy on entering and also quite dusty if windy so be advised of that. Otherwise would definitely recommend.

Such a gorgeous spot. We fit with our truck camper, we took the second spot. FYI this spot and all following spots are connected via trails. Bigger rigs including trailers should take the next few entrances as you'll be able to get a much larger spot, either in the forest or by the river. There are easily well over 100 spots in the area, so don't think it's all full, just try one of the other entrances.

Great spot next to the lake. We stayed here one night, very quiet. Road is pretty rough high clearance and 4x4 recommended if there is still snow.

Amazing spot by the river. Very peaceful. Spots for 6 cars max. Also good for tents. Fire rings (please check for fire ban). 10 min from/to Jasper NP.

Beautiful blue water with view of the rockies, fire pits, privacy, highly recommend 4x4 vehicles

Report Check-In

Nice places along the dirt road. we didnt take the marked spot but drove a few hundred meters further. the marked spot is quite nice but in sight of the highway. the dirtroad follows the creek so you will find a good spot

Report Check-In

It is as described by the original poster.
This is on the same dirt road (very dusty when dry) as the three sites just to the east.

Our larger vehicle wouldn’t be too happy going to the farther sites 25-100m down the road. It’s a bit rutty. When dry, 2wd is just fine. Good to have a good clearance, high clearance isn’t required.

If it rains for a while, I’d say 4wd would be needed.

All the sites are pretty well free of garbage. So please do pack out what you brought in so it stays nice for your next visit.
