a nice looking place, however expensive. I went for a room with private bathroom. 68 dollar. hotel prices but no hotel service. no WiFi in room, breakfast not included, no shampoo or shower and no cleaning during stay. All fine but without this very overpriced.

only unhealthy fast food options in the restaurant.

but a very nice place to be and to meet people

Now $12 for camping and $20 for dorm bed. Prices go up significantly from there. For us, too expensive for a “vibe”. Negotiated a private double room with AC for 260 kwacha (13 usd), at cafe Zambezi. Negotiations were with the owner, do not recommend trying with staff.

Small camping area well shaded. Stayed in mixed dorm for $17. Great vibe in the lounge, pool and bar area. Decent ablution and cooking area. Most importantly such a vibe.

Report Check-In

Asking $9usd pppn here or $7ppn if you stay at the other place. $18 total seemed too much for a single carpark space (through the bar/pool area looks nice!)

We didn't stay and instead tried the Zambezi Cafe (stayed in their carpark for about $6.5 total - 2 people 1 campervan, so if you are trying to save try there!)

Report Check-In

Booked into a room as there is no rooftop tent camp, unless you camp in the car park.
Cool place, groovy location and sweet town. Go to Limpos across the road for a drink if you’re down to party!

We had our worst night camping in 14 months. The place incl swimming pool and bar is lovely. Also nice place to meet people, but... if you travelling by motorhome or rooftent you camp on the parking lot. Because of the long power cuts they use a generator which is on the same parking lot and makes a lot of noise. At 23h they shut it down and that was when the real trouble started. Drunk People visiting the bar were angry because there was no electricity and blamed the four people on the parking lot. So they decided to go on with their party next to our car just to annoy us. Gard at duty let it go. Beside of this there were cars going in and out the parking lot the entire night. So we didn’t sleep.

Great hostel to spend a few days and enjoy being in the city of Livingstone and its many activities. Friendly staff, good ambience. We won a free bungee jumping and did a free kayaking tour (they needed people to make a commercial video). We also did the rafting (a must do!!) (videos, photos and food included)+ sunset boat cruise (free drinks and free food) 160$pp booked trough the hostel with SafPar company (incredibly pro) 9$pp camping in the parking. Good value, don't need more as you can enjoy cooking in a proper kitchen (Spar is 5 minutes by foot) and chilling out by the bar and swimming pool. Ablution are clean and hot shower. Of course it is a bit noisy as the hostel is right in the city. Nevertheless it definitely worths the say! NB: Ocean Basket is an amazing sea food restaurant. And burgers at the Jolyboy's bar are really good.

Report Check-In

It's overpriced. Dorms don't even have moskito nets! At the Zambesi Guesthouse (attached to the cafe Zambezi) you find the same for half the price and with nets.

Report Check-In

As described. $15 per person for the dorm, expensive for Africa. Very nice facilities though, pool, lounge area, book exchange, good free WiFi. It's a good European or Asian backpackers hostel vibe.

Report Check-In

At the reception they said 9usd pppn and no discount for kids. 45usd in total for the 5 of us to stay in the parking in our rooftop tents seemed way too much.. ! No discount seemed possible...

Nice backpacker with pool, vibrant bar and clean abolutions. Price is 9$ppn for sleeping in the parking lot. We paid 36$ for 2 adults and 2 kids (5/6years), which was a lot in our opinion for a parking lot. No chance to negotiate thought, the staff just told us it would be cheaper elsewhere. So we did not feel very welcome, althought the place is nice.

Beautiful backpackers that has everything you need except for car campsites. Nice people, decent price, wifi, pool, we had a great stay overall.

chilly smooth place, for camping and backpacker, great bar and friendly people

The backpackers Mecca of Livingstone. Always busy. Recently modernised with two televisions in the Main area, which has killed the old atmosphere and ended the travel chat. Whilst most come to get away from TV, there’s always someone who wants to watch a game or show! Other then this, it’s a fantastic place and the staff and owners are absolutely lovely and totally devoted to making the best backpacker experience they can. There is overnight parking (in concrete car park) for 3 or 4 Land Rover sized 4x4s, borehole water and electricity (with an extension). Great fun place, especially at weekends.

Report Check-In

Massive backpacker complex, bar is lively with travelers and expats. They organize all kinds of activities, and run a fee shuttle to the falls in the morning (but not back). Tent camping is on a small grass area right by the bar and parking lot, so not really ideal.
