I got lucky and had a very sweet ranger tell me that they are no longer allowing non registered campers to shower but since I was there on a non busy day & had an ‘America the Beautiful ‘ pass that I could use the shower but “Quickly”. The only person that gave me a hard time was a nosey 70yr old Boy Scout on a bicycle.

We were turned away at the entrance booth. The ranger said showers are only for campground guests and you can’t get past the booth without a day-use reservation after May 15th.

Report Check-In

There is 2 showers, very clean, but not a lot of pressure. Not sure if it's not only for campers... but we took our showers and nobody bugged us.

You don’t need a reservation during the off season!!!
Also, as long as you can get into the fern canyon lot (with or without a reservation), you can access the showers by parking in the beach day use area and walking over. I asked the camp host directly if I could just use their shower and she had no issue with it so I was able to park right out front. Shower is hot, pressure is good, and the facilities are clean. This was an awesome FREE shower, definitely try your luck if you are already at fern canyon and need to wash the hike sweat off.
Otherwise, as other said - it is a long way to go for only the shower, the road is rough and narrow. Only go if you are already doing a hike there, otherwise it is not worth the time to drive down.

They now have a seasonal reservation system. If you don’t have an online reservation you won’t get past the booth. Note no cell service in the area.

You actually need a reservation to get into here. We were lucky and the entrance lady let us in because it wasn't busy today. It's free with the annual pass or 12$ per day.
Also don't come here if you are searching for a quick shower as it takes some time to get down here. It's a rough and steep road.
The shower was really nice though. Clean and hot. It's the shower of the campground but there is a day use parking right outside of the campground and access to the beach also for day use.

We came here and it was perfect. The shower was really hot and clean. 10/10 for the shower but it’s a campground, we wanted to stay for the night, but we have to pay 35 box for.
We just didn’t see it directly but still a nice spot with a really cool hot and free shower. ( we do have the pass)

a little too good to be true, the entry to the state park is free with a national parks pass, the showers are free and WARM, not hot, but very clean, hard to complain about a free shower

Report Check-In

Not too good to be true! This campground has several private showers, clean and free. Calls for happy dancing ! YAY!

Report Check-In

3 stars. Showers were free / included in the steep $35 camping fee. Rained the whole time. Unlimited hot water but shower length limited by clogged drain and water rising tolerance. Shower head is that standard pos knob thing. After a week plus sans bathing I do feel better post my experience here.. cheers

Open during Covid. It was not very clean but with slippers no problem.

National park pass gets you in for the day! 35$ for the nicest campsites! Love!

As previously described. No time limits for showers. It’s a free, hot shower so can’t complain too much.

Took a long, hot shower here. Stalls were clean & no quarters needed

Free entry with National Parks Pass, otherwise $8.

Showers were nice, hot, unlimited, and free.

Checked out Fern Canyon while down there which was alright.

Roads are rough but doable in my RWD Sprinter, wouldn’t bring a camper trailer down.

Report Check-In

There are two showers and one restroom. The shower on the right was at least not coin operated, I don't know about the left one. It was just a regular shower with a small changing section, no mirror or power outlets. But yes, free if you have the national parks pass, otherwise $8 in cash to enter the area. Don't miss out on walking the 0.6mi Fern Canyon loop.

**note this road is very rocky/gravelly and is quite steep**

Just go slow you’ll be okay!

Came here for the showers.

Typically $8.00 for the day but had a National Park pass so got in for free.

Showers were okay, water was kind of warm.

Toilets were clean.

Bring quarters!! Free entry with National Park Pass. The showers are quarter operated now. Nice, hot water. Clean-ish. Stall is dim lit. Does have a mirror and sink and also an electrical outlet to use. Nice staff working at park.

still works, all as described... Don't miss fern canyon at the end of the road.

Beautiful spot. Road in was completely fine, just a little bit bumpy. We made it down easily with our 2wd truckcamper. It felt good to have a proper hot shower, last public shower we saw on our way up was in Monterrey.
