Road still appears to be closed although many locals did arrive and appeared to be waiting for the chain to be dropped. It was hard to understand how long they would wait, one seem to indicate 3 hours.
As it was raining and we were not sure what to expect further in we turned around.
Report Check-InOld road still closed: they are constructing a new road down to the coast (new road 'under construction' is already visible on OSM).
Report Check-InFebruary 2019: we checked in the town of Cambara do Sul and were told that the pass is still closed. Road is being tarred.
