Rwanda
Right next to the NP HQ - where you can camp in the carpark for FRW 10.000 (Dec 2023). Also known as Kinigi Guest house.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Decent place with different options to park your car for camping on the gravel parking lot. The room where we could use the bathroom was OK, but we were glad we could stay in our rtt.
10000RWF pppn.
Nice garden with great views and sunbeds to relax after your hike or Trekking.
Would recommend for a night, just because of its location, price and amenities.
The fireplace in the evening is a great place for good chats and some local beers.
Kinigi Guesthouse. Basic rooms but clean. The food is basic, but decent and cheap. A friendly lady who served us during our 2 nights, she didn't speak English. We paid RWF50,000 per night for a room incl breakfast. 2 minute drive to the Volcanoes NP Headquarters
Report Check-InAll as described below. The best option for camping in the area. They asked 10,000 pppn, we negotiated it down to 8000 pppn.
Report Check-InNice complex with unfortunately very run-down flats. We could park our truck in the driveway and stay overnight. You get a key for a room to use the shower and toilet. Price 10000 ppN. Food was just good and cheap.
Wonderful view at the mountains.
We paid 56 000 for 2 people with a rooftop tent for 4 nights. Basic campsite but you get a key for a hot shower. Just stayed here for the ideal location. Very friendly reception lady
Report Check-InSugar says price has gone up now
10 US pppn in car park for camping .
10,000 RWF for 2 people with a rooftop tent at the parking lot. All as described before. Not the best campsite in the world but the closest one if you're doing any activity in the Volcanoes NP (5 minutes away by walk). They also provide free wifi here but it's not the best. Go to the Volcanoes NP headquarters if you really need fast wifi, it's the fastest I've had in Africa in 8 years and totally free.
Report Check-InNot really a campsite, but they allowed us to park our car with RTT at the parking lot and gave us the key to a room (hot shower). When we were there it was cold and rainy, but they have a room with a fire place and we could also eat our dinner there. We waited quite a long time for our dinner, so maybe you should order it a little bit in advance. Staff is very friendly, but low English skills. You can walk to the headquarter of the national park (but if you want to do a tracking you need to bring your car there anyways in order to get to the starting point of the hiking tours). We would recommend this place!
Report Check-Invery nice Lodge with good view to volcano not far from park entry.
campsite and nice rooms with hot showers RFr 35.000
good kitchen and very nice people at service and reception.
good to recommend for some days to stay.
Camping on parking with rtt, but surrounded by beautiful garden. 7000 pp. It was very cold at night but they have a lounge area where you can sit by the fireplace!
Report Check-Infantastic place to base for gorilla tracking of Volcano climbing. allowed us to pitch tents on the grass 7000pppn. very friendly staff we staying 4 nights so will update again on how it went
Report Check-InWe camped in the car park with our rooftent. Fairly flat and spacious, and they opened a room for us to use the nice clean toilet and shower. Well located for all NP activities. Only downside is that the car park is noisy gravel and staff start walking around very early - bring ear plugs!
Now RWF7,000 pppn.
Food very good and fairly priced, but service is slow so order in plenty of time!
Report Check-InCamped in car park. Friendly French speaking staff. Showers bit awkward and small, but had hot water. Still 5000 UGX.
Report Check-InPerfect base for Volcanous NP with great view to volcanos.
Grassy site for tents or camping on parklot. 5000RWF.
Good food in restaurant.
Friendly staff.
Great place when visiting Volcanoes NP (gorilla/golden monkey trekking). We camped at the parking and got keys to a room, so had our private ablutions (low season). Paid FRW 5.000 pppn.
Report Check-Inright next to the NP HQ- where we could have camped in the carpark for $5 but opted for one of their rooms at $65 as the weather was cold (12°C) at night at the 2600m altitude we were at.
