Description

This spot is lovely. Food at a good price, close to the seal colony with good facilities and very peaceful. Could have stayed a few days if we’d had the time! $180 per adult/night.

Small and new campsite attached to the nice Lodge. Protected from the wind as camps behind main buildings are equipped with additional wind covers and walls. Each parcel has its own sink, light and braai pit. Ablution block was good, hot shower even at night.

Wifi no longer free (need to buy voucher).
There is MTC 3G reception.

Nice log fire in the restaurant is cozy in the evening. You are allowed to make use of the couches here.

Cape Cross Lodge and Camping, Skeleton Coast Namibia.
Wow what a location!
I would highly recommend this place!!
Camped for a night at this amazing Lodge whilst
driving the skeleton coast.
A very unique place full of historic artifacts and a small museum.
The Lodge is large and clean with a good restaurant and cafe, and has the added bonus of being only a few minutes drive from the eponymous Fur Seal colony at Cape cross.

Great campsite with good clean facilities, hot water, soap, toilet roll. Sheltered from the wind. Friendly fishermen on long fishing/camping trips. The staff in the lodge are nice and the food is good and reasonably priced. We paid 180 NAD ppn.

Report Check-In

Nice place, good shelter against the wind. Clean toilets and showers with warm water. We had some rain but we were able to place a shelter..

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite as described above.
Price still 180.

We spend the evening around the nice logfire in the restaurant.

Report Check-In

As described.
Probably the best place to stay in the area when the wind blows.
Rate now N$180 ppn.

Ignore the below, this spot is lovely. Food at a good price, close to the seal colony with good facilities and very peaceful. Could have stayed a few days if we’d had the time!

Report Check-In

Full of fishermen who have set up here so the place resembles more of a shanty town than a campsite. Not what I expected to be honest.

Close to the sea, facilities were clean and tidy. N$165 per adult and N$85 per child. Very quiet at night.

It’ll do in an emergency, but wouldn’t choose to come back.

PRICE UPDATE NOVEMBER 2021: 165 NAD PPN. Good campsite with what you need to "survive" in this weird end of the world land Wind protection, hot showers, clean toilets, light. No sea view from camping area. Lodge is quite pleasant and serves drinks and food with reasonable prices. Apparently there's a rabies outbreak amongst jackals in the region so campers must be very aware of that as they can get very agressive when bearing this disease which is lethal even for humans. Luckily we didn't come across any of them.

Report Check-In

Wonderful place.
Even when windy you can get shelter here. Showers are hot, each site with electricity from 6am to 10pm, small light, and sink.
You can use the lobby of the lodge which has nice communal area and fireplace.
We loved it so we stayed extra night.
You can walk from here to the seal colony, about an hour walk on the beach each direction.
Price is 165 pp/pn.
For us totally worth it

Report Check-In

very nice place, we paid 150N$ ppn, all is very clean

Report Check-In

Nice location. Campsite private and clean with own basin / wash up area on each site. Screened from some of the wind by the hotel building and by the wooden screens at the campsite. Ablutions clean and functional with running water and hot water. Small museum at the reception and the hotel has a nice outside area overlooking the ocean where sundowners and mussels can be enjoyed. Close to the seals . Road to this campsite is in good condition and is easy driving.

Report Check-In

$140pp. Reasonably priced, with clean ablutions, braai drum, electricity and wind shelter. Recommend taking a walk along the beach, regardless of the weather!

One of the absolute best camping spots on the coast of Namibia. Very well maintained Lodge with very good campsites. Very good shielded against wind with absolutely stunning restaurant and view. Only R140 p/p camping. Will be back....

Report Check-In

We really liked that place...first we wanted to do wild camp but after visiting the seals we really had the feeling to have a shower (it is soooo stinky :-))
The campsite itself was nice, generator sound is a minus but just until 21pm.
You have a nice common area with sofas and a good restaurant. We liked the catch of the day. Cosy to sit inside in the evening and nice view and terrace for day time.

Report Check-In

Update, as listed below but rate is now 140pppn, still reasonable given the good facilities and partial wind breaks. Note the generator for electricity is only on from 1800 to 2100 in the evening.

N$500 per night for a site accommodating up to 3 vehicles - a little steep if you're travelling solo. Nice pitches with light, twin sockets, shaded searing area with sink and separate braai. Lodge very close with decent restaurant and bar. DO NOT CONFUSE WITH CAPE CROSS CAMPGROUND.
