UPDATE 2022: fenced off with barbed wire.
Grassy parking on the corner. Lots of other overlanders here. Shady and lots of mosquitoes. Very quiet - only some cars passing in the night. Might be louder on a weekend. Did not see any police drive by during the night.

Checked it out and looks cozy. Bad fire ants which bit my dog. Unsure if sleeping here has now been banned but saw in another review for this town that police were cracking down on overlanders sleeping in cars
Report Check-InTotally alright, just spent one night there. Restaurant la Playita across the street is the nicest bar in Bacalar.
