Description

*Overnight camping/parking is NOT permitted at this location. Day-use only.
.....
Small lake 1,6km from the Moyie Lake Provincial park. There is a small dock and access for boats, some locals visit now and then, but quiet overall.

If you continue just a few meters on the road after this rest area, you arrive where the road turns into a 'Y', at that crossing on your left side: you see quite a flat grassy area to park your car or pitch a tent.

OR if you turn left on the Y-crossing you will find (after 20 meters) a small turnout blocked by a log which you can park next to and pitch your tent on the other side of the log; to be away from the people and noise at the lake.

This place is neat, quiet and fun, we camped here for a few weeks and came back a few times on our days off when working in the bush. Would be a good alternative to the Palmer Recreation area in high tourism period.

Clearly marked as day use only, didn’t stay

Report Check-In

Near Mineral Lake. There is a boat launch, fire pits and couple of picnic tables. The pit toilet is unusable. During day and early evening lots of day users on Mineral Lake (small..could call a slough). There is a rope swing and people swim. Once dark it was quiet but at 5am the fisherman show up a launch boats to go swimming.

Very limited spots in this area, was lucky to get this one. It is not very flat and had an extreme amount of mosquitoes because of all the still water nearby. Was okay for the night, no one bothered us. Lots of cars coming and going til late at the lake though.

Report Check-In

Near lake with dirty fire place, cans and plastic bags.

Report Check-In

We stayed for 2 days as it was hot and the lake was beautiful. Because it was a weekend there were lots of day users but no one bothered us.
The second night we were joined by a number of other campers. There were mosquitoes but they were manageable.

Report Check-In

when you enter the site, to the left is a level ground and signed day use only. Some young people had camped out here for the night. We drove up right, and took the first stop in the clearing. Yes it is near the road, but only car passed while we where here. There are lots of firepits down the lake, but those sites are to small for 24ft RV. So this spot is quite level, and fine for a night.
Rich wild life, lots of deer in the woods, turtles in the lake, owls at night, frogs ect. Otherwise really quiet at night.

Report Check-In

This area is signed as day use only. We stayed further up the road.

Report Check-In

Awesome quiet place next to the lake. No one around after 7 pm this time of year.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place with spooky echo if you're at the right spot. Stayed the night and kinda got stuck in mud after it rained (2wd) so be careful with that.

Report Check-In

As described. Nice spot, quiet once the few locals who were fishing/hanging out left and no one showed up in the morning. Left at 10am. Mosquito time of year already...

Place tranquille presque abandonnée, on était vraiment hors saison. Répondais exactement à nos besoins. Toilettes encore fonctionnel.

Report Check-In

Super easy to find, right off the road which was a surprisingly busy road. Camping area was nice with fire pits on a small, beautiful calm lake. We camped on a Saturday night and got woken up numerous times until about 2am by teenagers causing a raucous. Felt a bit unsafe at times, but was free and accessible in our 30ft motorhome.

Report Check-In

Managed to back our 22ft Class C down to the first pullout on the side road and park totally off the road. Nice looking spot except for the locals who think that nature can be enhanced by punk rock blaring out of loudspeakers. But they left at sunset and things got quieter. Okay for one night.

Lovely place to camp in a field with mountain views. Keep right at the first Y and then veer left (don’t turn left) at the second Y. You will see an open grassy field on the left. We pitched our tents just off the main road. It was very quite with only one other camper there. We woke up to a group of deer making their way through the field for.

Report Check-In

Beautiful lake surrounded by trees.
Kind of dirty spot though. As one pit has cigarettes and a shoe in it.
We only saw one clear campsite with a picnic table and pit.

Report Check-In

Beautiful lake surrounded by trees.
There were a couple of spots with pits. Kind of dirty as there was garbage and shoes in the fire pits.

Beautiful mineral lake, great for skin, with numerous impressive rope swings on left side of lake, first one is easy second set of swings if for the more gutsy individual!! There were a few turtles in the lake also, quite friendly! We cooked lunch here in the day use area just round the corner from the spot described here but it became really popular in the afternoon so we didn’t stay the night but would highly recommend for a visit if you are passing by the area.

Report Check-In

The first small road to the left that you see when you arrive indeed leads to a pretty spot at the lake with a dock but has a sign that says 'no admittance in the night'.

So drive on and even before taking the left turn of the 'Y' road; there's a big, quite flat, green area where we parked our car and pitched our tent right now. Nice and quiet!

The coördinates plotted in by 'Horizon Transition' are the coördinates pass the 'Y' road they described and a bit further than the very small turnout 20m onto the small potholed road; the small turnout is now blocked by a log.

Small lake 1,6km from the moyie proncial park. There is a small dock avnd access for bot, some local comes but not so many people. But if you continue juste few meter on the road after this rest area, you arrive where the road do a Y, if you go left and continue 20 merters you have a small turnout where you can park and be far away from people on the dock if so many noise. There is an access to the lake to and if you want a small path to the dock. This place is really neet and fun, we camp there few weeks and came back few times on our day off while working in the bush. Would be a good alternative to palmer recreation area in high tourism perdio.
