Going up the Elk River road, this is a nice spot down a little gravel side road to the river bank. Large area to camp.

Started on a Sunday and Monday in a large paved pull out with a fully contained truck camper. There was occasional traffic during the day and nobody at night. Small trail led down to the river.
There were many spots to stay at. At least a couple would accommodate a class A.
We stayed here two nights while on the Oregon coast. There was a sorta sketchy looking trailer parked and some bags of trash in the bushes, but no one around. We parked the rig on the beach, nice and flat.
When we returned the second night, someone had been there as the trash was a little more consolidated and there were some new soda cans around on the ground. Whoever has the trailer must come to party during the day.
Report Check-InNice location on the bank of the Elk River. Steep enough to be trouble for non 4x4. This is in the Rouge-River-Siskiyou National Forest. No reception on T-Mobile
Report Check-InThere are plenty of small pull offs along this road that you can stay at by the river. No cell reception so keep that in mind.
Report Check-InWanted to park our camper van here for the night… but there’s a HUGE NO CAMPING sign… oh well… must be new. Moving on…
Report Check-InYay I can finally live in a van down by the river! This is a nice secluded spot by the river. Little bit of rough road getting in but was ok going slow. I’d say borderline 4x4 but probably not required. It WAS dry when I did it though, not sure how it’d be if it was raining. No Verizon service here. Could easily have a tent. Big rig would be very difficult. I’m in a CRV and it was perfect.
Report Check-InIncredible spots back here! They’re all very far apart so we had to drive a bit (10+ miles) before finding one. The road is easy to drive in a promaster. Almost all of the spots are on the river. Most don’t need 4x4. No cell service.
Report Check-InVisited June 2019. This camp spot would have been great had I been able to get down to it. 4WD is necessary to get down to the river so I couldn't stay. Bummed because it was really nice.
Report Check-InWild camp on banks of Elk River. Lovely pebbly/sandy beach flowing stream. Suitable tents and smaller campers. Site is not fully level. Beach area will hold cars. Quiet. No no-camping signs. Obviously frequently has campers. Previous fire site.
