On Jackman Street, West of the Jefferson county fairgrounds there's a lot of space for street parking. I parked here overnight and had no problems. As a bonus, the fairgrounds are open and there's a picnic table and a huge grassy area where lots of people bring their dogs.

This was our last resort for a night in Port Townsend. Tried Fort Worden but the campground was full and the ranger kicked us out at sunset. No one bothered us and there was hardly any traffic. Stayed from 9:30 to 7. It works for a night. No amenities close by. Looked like there was one other car staying down the road on the other side. Not the most level.
Report Check-InAs described. Spent one night here. Really just a thin space between the road and the fence, enough to fit a car. A lot of cars passed in the night, very loudly, as you park about 1ft from the road.
Report Check-InSpent one night with no issues. Arrived late and left early. Even saw some coyotes in the morning!
Report Check-InAs described, we stayed 1 night with no issues.
I would be hesitant to stay more than a night or two. Port Townsend is a small enough town that you might attract attention from police (although there aren't any signs that say no parking). A few cars were parked around us, but none seemed to be living out of their vehicle.
