Something not right?

Description

Flat, open grass/gravel area right on the edge of the bayou. Well shielded by trees, very quiet. Gorgeous bayou scenery. No services but a restroom is 2 mins drive away at the Texaco.

No signs forbidding parking overnight. I stayed one night in a minivan with no issues.

Stayed here last night. Has others have described, it is very quiet at night but the fishing folks start arriving at 6am. Beautiful little bayou. Important: low clearance trees and power line on the road to get here. I have an 11 foot tall trailer and had to choose the right path on the road to make it.

Fairly busy with boater fishermen and women when I pulled in around 4. cleared out shortly after dark and quiet except for a couple cars coming and going. Gorgeous views and nice neighborhoods with giant southern Live Oak trees to walk through. stayed one night in a 24' class C no issues.

Beautiful location, however, got woken up at 1:30 in the morning by the police. She told me I couldn’t sleep there. I tried offering some gluten free pancakes if she comes back in the morning, but it was a no go. Slept at the nearby cracker barrel instead and that was no problem.

Easy to find in the dark. Flat place to park. People are friendly. It’s fun to watch the boat launch. We stayed for the night and a better part of the morning. We do not need hook ups. We did run the generator with out issue. Nice peeping fogs.

Very peaceful location!
I did just get woken up by the boys in blue. Two officers came up to the window with bright lights in my eyes. Once they ran my name, my plates, and asked three times if I any guns or drugs, they had absolutely no problem with me staying here. In the end, they were very friendly, very curious, and pretty intrigued to hear about a guy living in his car by choice.

Happy travels all!

Report Check-In

The water on the ramp was super high when we got there, and there was a boat deposited on the shore, which sketched us out a little bit... but we weren’t bothered and had a very peaceful nights sleep. Around 6am lots of boaters started rolling in, so we just moved down the street a little bit to make coffee before moving on.
