Description

West side of Glacier National Park at Kintla Lake. All unpaved, narrow roads. 13 campsite for cars, trucks, vans, nothing large. Pit toilets and water available. Nice, quiet spot next to the lake and creek. Note all spaces are first come here. you don't need one of the on-line passes for the North Fork area if you want to camp here. Just say at the gate that you want to camp and they let you in without a pass.

Beautiful campground! We had our dog with us and we’re pleasantly surprised when the host said dogs can swim in the outlet stream of Kintla Lake. We paid $7.50 with the parks pass, or its $15 without the pass. We were surprised that the campground filled completely by midday on a Wednesday.

Beautiful peaceful campground on the lake and along the Kitla creek. 2 pit toilets. $10/ni. Large well marked sites with shade, fire rings, and picnic tables. Water pump broken. Sewage dump near entrance. Boat ramp. First 13 miles of road are easy dirt 25mph. Last 2 mi up to the lake a little more challenging but well maintained

Spent two separate nights here while bouncing around all the spots near. First night was a monday and there was only one other person staying as well as a ranger. Second night was a Wednesday and it was pretty busy. With a pass we paid 5 a night. Spots are on top of each other but worth it to wake up and paddle out on the lake. Toilet was actually clean. Road up is long and not the most pleasant but could spend lots more time here.

Was not expecting the sites to be quite this tight. Still a cool spot despite that. Water access has been cut off for now, but put toilet still available and stocked with tp and hand sanitizer. You can use a road shower/bag shower, but you have to collect all water. There were signs that dump stations were closed, so be prepared to pack out your grey water. Views were amazing, some awesome trails too. Price was $10 while we were there, but there is a 50% discount offered for parks passes. Beware of curmudgeonly park ranger, he does not want to talk to you. Locking food storage and trash cans available for those ill equipped to keep their food safely packed.

Very nice spot by beautiful lake with surrounding mountains. As described long rough road in but no problem in 2wd van just go slow and wonderful scenery along the way, open meadows with mountains in background. Some of the campsites are tight together but outer ring along creek is nice and private enough $15/night. Only half full middle of week. Well worth drive just ask gate how full. Lake is gorgeous and very refreshing for dip after dusty drive. Do yourself a favor and get the best pastry ever created on the way in/out: huckleberry bear claws at polebridge mercantile

All spaces are on a 'First come basis'. It's a pretty spot on the lake, but the campspots are too close together. There is so much forest and wilderness here, plenty of room to give each camper a bit more space. Not all spaces are full today, but it still felt crowded. We didn't like the vibe here much. Might be better at a less peak time.

It’s currently $15/night for a campsite. It has a picnic table and fire ring. Overall it’s pretty quiet. We’re staying here tonight and sky is pretty smokey all around. We don’t have 4x4 or high clearance and it took us about 3 hours to get here from west glacier. There was construction work, where we had to wait for pilot car, and last 23miles is just dirt road where we had to drive slow. Definitely doable with 2WD just takes longer. Lake is nice. Unfortunately no dogs allowed in or on the lake.

This campground is open. I however did not stay. 10$ a night. It would be a good spot as a base for camping and kayaking. However, despite it being super far out it is still national park, so the trails and the lake are not dog friendly. The campground itself is not really a place you want to hang out all day. Sites are super close together and there is no privacy. There is a camp host. If my dog would have been able to use the lake and trails I probably would have stayed. You can check the website too to see if it’s full yet as the host updates it in pretty real time so you don’t drive out there. Road is a little rough going out there, but nothing totally crazy hard. No service.

Gorgeous views of Boundary Mountains. A beautiful lake. Day use only as this area is currently closed to camping.

This place is not free (15 to 18$ a nite) and not dog friendly . From Polebridge it’s a nasty beat up dirt road , going 20 miles an for 15 miles - took me over an over to get there. The lake was amazing, the campsite was super busy with lots of kayakers, campers and tenter and vans . I didnt stay since dogs were prohibited in the lake nor the foot trails.
