Costa Rica
This is where we parked to see 4 Quetzals in a tree. There is a little, steep, muddy hiking trail near this parking spot. Hike up at 5:30-6 am and you’ll see lots of people there with guides. The hike on the trail is short.
The road to get to this spot in San Gerardo de Dota is steep and narrow but mostly paved. People just park on the sides of the narrow road at the trailhead. No designated parking spots and vehicles barely fit.

There is no longer a nest here so it’s less likely to see the Quetzales — for the last few months tree no. 2 is the best place to see them.

The dueno is super nice and you can ask him about the quetzals. at the end we had a coffe at the restaurant that has an amazing view! that is all we pay!worth it!
Still possible to see quetzales, saw 2 this morning. There is a sign saying something about $2 fee, but nobody asked for it.
