Toll booths don't seem to be in operation anymore. No one at the booths and buses going straight through. There is a handmade rope/informal toll later in town, but not sure how much this costs (we passed around on bicycles).

Report Check-InThey wanted 15 BOB from me, I tried to push her to 10 BOB but it seems this is the new price, at least for a güerro like me. The vast majority of the road was paved and in very good conditions, the gravel part (~15km on and off at the beginning close to Tupiza) was ok with our 2WD van. The road took us roughly 4hrs so budget sufficient time.
The views you’ll get in this road are breathtaking, we’ve seen much from the world but this was definitely its chocolate side.
You still have to pay 10Bs. The road is unpaved for about 10km in the section between Uyuni and Tupiza. The rest is very good.

A guy with a rope stop the car. You have to pay 10 BOB and you need the receipt for Uyuni !
pavement good from here to uyuni with one small detour for an almost completed bridge.
