Description

This is a great place to rest for a few days if you need a break from the road, staying in a small calm village like Antofagasta. The price was 450 pesos per person (low season), but we bargained for 760 pesos for both of us.
It’s a small private apart-hotel/cabaña, clean, well equiped with a kitchen, refrigerator, gas stove (with working oven), wood burning stove (they provided us wood, great for the cold weather), hot shower and hot water on the taps. There are some despensas around to buy veggies, wine and other stuff you need. No wifi, but Claro coverage

Luisa is very kind and welcoming. We could park and sleep in our camper in the backyard, with very clean shower and bathroom for 250 Pesos p.P. (300 Peso p.P. with electricity).
Big rigs may not be able to enter (max height less than 3m).
Food in the restaurant excellent and freshly prepared.

This is a great place to relax in the midle of the Argentina Puna.
Lovely owners with a very good knowledge of the northwest of Argentina.
Tourguide and owner Walter (alma gaucho) speaks perfect german and english and is very helpfull.

Here are now 4 clean „Cabañas“, Wifi,
carport and garden with barbeque (parrilla).
They offer an excellent breakfast, lunch in their Restaurant "IGNIMBRITA".
We highly recommend this place.

Overlander with small cars are also wellcome.

Report Check-In

The place is run by Christian and Luisa which are both really kind. Christian is an overlander himself and has been exceptionally helpful with loads of informations on offroad tracks all around the Puna. If you wanna look around but you’re a bit lost i cannot recommend talking with him enough. A real blessing. He has his own expedition company, Alma Gaucho.

Good value place. We paid 500 each. Clean, kitchen with oven (!) and centrally located.
