Description

This parking lot borders a playing field on one side and a forest on the other side. There are beautiful trails just behind the parking lot with lots of deer and wild life. A lady from a near by camp site told me that people often camp here without any problems. I stayed here for one night and it was great. There are toilet facilities near by as well. Please keep in mind this is a function playing field so you may see families and kids in the afternoon

**** both bathrooms are locked up while I was there night / day

Arrived after dark, there was one other van. Was really quiet at night. In the morning we noticed that there were "No overnight camping" signs. We had no issues but might be worth considering

I slept here for two nights. It was very peaceful with just a few folks coming by in the morning to walk their dogs.

As stated before, this is a great place. Washrooms were open overnight, with hot water too! No one came by all night - until I got the knock in the morning. Bylaw officer came to check me out. Nice guy, had no problem with me here, but he got a call about someone possibly camping here from the guy who comes to clean the washrooms. Apparently they have had issues with transients taking up residence in the washrooms when they’re open (normally washrooms are locked overnight but due to COVID, they are understaffed and rely on team coaches at the sports field to lock them, which often doesn’t happen). Anyway he said “it’s not posted not to camp here so I’ve got no problem with it, but maybe find someplace else for tonight”. He suggested along Bar Road near the beach, as that is outside of the town limits. Apart from the knock, it was a perfect stay here.

Access to the fields is closed for the season. Locked gates across the drive.

Wonderful spot. quite and dark at night. close to town and on some nice trails. No signs prohibiting overnight parking. Good cell signal.

Report Check-In

There is water in the washrooms but no hose or water outside. We came to fill our fresh water tank but had to go elsewhere.
