Hacienda el Jaral is a beautiful hotel right on the highway to Copán ruins. The camping area is basically the parking lot of the aquapark but it is nice, big spaces, grass. The hotel and the aquapark belong to each other but there are two different entrance. You have to pay first at the reception of the hotel then the guard will let you in at the gate of the aquapark that is a 100 m further down on the highway. They all are very friendly and helpful. We got here very late. Paid 750 l for a big camper, 2 adults and 4 kids including the entrance fee to the aquapark. There is basic but Okay toilets, outside cold shower, electricity and water. The aquapark is very nice, with tables, hammocks, small playground. I highly recommend the place even without kids.

We arrived late and spent only one night, but I can recommend the place. The pools are great if you travel with kids. Internet pretty fast. Watched movies on YouTube. Bit noise from the road but quiet at night. 200 Lempiras per person. Planned to come back for the second night, but we left Copan Ruins after sunset so we checked in at Hotel El Bosque.

It felt a little strange at first; we were the only people here and the woman running the place was preparing to leave for the day. She was very kind and helpful however - she prepared some food for us in the kitchen of the snack bar, and she offered us the wifi password (we didn't even ask :). There was a night guard, so we felt very safe. Showers were outdoor showers by the pool, so we didn't use them. Restrooms were clean and nice though.
This place is very close to the entry for the Copan Ruins.

Camped on a nice grassy open parking lot right by the water park complex. We paid $7 usd per person to camp which includes access to facilities. We were asked to pay $9 per person as that is the new rate. Very nice staff. Security guard at night. Complex is just 200 m from a military check point. 15 min drive from the Copan archeological site and the town of Copan Ruins. We had a good time here.

camping on the grassy parking lot, no shade and right on the highway. they asked 300L for 2. we didn't stay, we think it is over rated (no electricity, no WiFi, expensive snack restaurant, just a parking) but can be great with children, the aqua park looked fun
