Camping next to the pool behind a small hotel just before Danli. Located on the hillside and far from the noisy main road. Clean bathroom with cold shower. Extremely friendly, elderly owner: Mario Alfredo. Unfortunately the pool was painted so we could not use it. Covered poolside seating.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
From the street, there is now a sign saying Villa Mercedes (or something like this).
Arrived at about 5pm. Nobody at the reception, only a few workers. They were helpful in locating somebody.
Finally some guy showed up, said we can camp on the paved area near the pool and the toilet/shower. Asked for $10. Gave a $20 bill - said he has no change.
Asked for 160L. Gave him 300L - said he has no change. Then I gave him 240L (the border exchange rate) - said it's not enough. Got annoyed and left. The place is okay but the guy not so much.
Report Check-InGood place to relax. There was a party when I arrived but they were gone by 8. Electricity, cold shower and nice hosts. They also told me they charge cyclists 5 dollars
Report Check-InWe went through this hostel 3 nights for $ 10 night, good weather, the place is safe have WiFi and clean pool Enter RVS, class C, attends the owner of the place Mario Alfredo .. The place is 10 minutes from downtown Danli, the place is very quiet and Sure to stay ..
Report Check-InThey told us they are closed and also didn't want to let us just sleep in the car. Not sure if this is the case every Sunday that they are closed or just that one when we were there. Just have a backplan ready on Sundays.
Report Check-InWe stayed here one night after crossing border from Nica. This place had seen better days . It’s an old hotel with a beautiful garden. Owner wasn’t there just the caretakers. When you stop at the entrance you’ll see a very dirty road almost only for 4x4 but it’s only 100 meters. It’s 250 L a night. It’s worth it but pool was empty when we were there though. Very peaceful place.
Report Check-InNice grounds and nice people. Stayed 1 night on way to border. Very quiet and safe.
Report Check-InStayed here one night so we could tour some cigar factories nice spot as described charged us 250L, pool, Wi-Fi, cold shower, peaceful sleep. If interested you can tour Rocky Patel & Placencia cigar factory in El Paraiso for free.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for 2 nights with another overlanding couple. Beautiful gardens and peaceful (when the music wasn't playing). Pool was cleaned each morning and evening. Good WiFi and friendly staff.
We are a tall and long and had no difficulty getting in. Still 10 USD a night. Electricity, water, toilet and cold shower available.
Very nice place to camp for a night before crossing the border. Small grass area big enough for two tents. Or a concrete pad big enough for two campers. Possible height restriction for tall vehicles. Nice pool, clean bathroom with cold shower. We payed 170L for our motorcycle and camping. I think 200L for a vehicle. Rooms are 700L. Mario is a very friendly host.
Report Check-InIt’s OK for a nights stay before/after border crossing. No Frills, parking with a bathroom. Expensive for what is provided at 10$.
Report Check-InGood place. Quit. Pool very clean. Internet worked quite well. Nice people. Spent two nights. Space for two rigs. Events on weekends - so probably expect loud music on a Saturday.
Report Check-InWe stayed here one night just before crossing into. Nicaragua. Very quiet, but slightly ran down. Includes electric, and water. Cold showers. Nice covered eating area at the pool or sitting in rain. We parked outback on flat concrete pad. There is a pool but it was a little cloudy water, so did not swim. We were able to access the parking with our big truck (11-1/2' tall) with no problems. Recommended stop before or after border crossing
Report Check-InLovely owners. $10 per car, use of clean pool, and sink area for washing up. Beautiful views, clean bathrooms. Let us run extension chord for electricity to two outside outlets. Wifi was decent.
Report Check-InStill the same as previous reviews, except we paid 245 Lempiras. Pool was open and clean and wifi worked pretty fast now. Recommended
Report Check-InGood and safe place for overnight before crossing the boarder to Nicaragua. We could park behind the hotel just beside the pool. Clean Restrooms with cold shower. We payed 10 USD.
Report Check-InPool was operational, very friendly couple, a great spot to overnight before crossing the border.
Report Check-InAs described. Nice owners & view, 10 USD per car (2 persons). Pool was empty, 110V, Nice and clean bathroom, average internet.
Report Check-InMario the owner is very friendly. we payed 276 l for one vehicle. WiFi is working. facilities as described below. Pool was empty. very quite place.
Report Check-InThis place and Hotel Quinta are on the same property. We were two rigs and Mario welcomed us warmly. We paid 220L per night. Pool was open and it and bathrooms were clean. There was a seat and TP. We were also able to use their machines and do laundry but a little pricy - charged by the piece even tho we did it ourselves. Tigo was okay but not consistent. We are 26' long and made it just fine but as someone else said watch your height as there are cables at about 9 & 10'. They now have Wi-Fi and it's very good.
Report Check-Incamping close to the house on a platform, quite, pool was filled with water and really clean, you have your own small bathroom with a cold shower, Mario, the owner was really friendly also his wife, 220 L was really okay, only less than 1 hour drive to border to Nicaragua
Report Check-InAt 220 LEM not cheap for what you get, but decent stop over before the border crossing. The guy showed us where to park at the concrete platform behind the building, next to the pool. The electric wire was hanging quite low and we caught it with our antenna (our van is 3.1 meters high). With that we pulled the lamp post out at the side of the drive way. O, o... It seemed the wooden pole was rotten or broken anyway. They didn't make a big deal of it; the guy just got a shovel and we helped getting the pole back up. So better get someone who pays attention to manoeuvre onto the platform (the guy didn't notice our height). When we were there a bridal shower was held at the covered terrace on the other side of the pool. They just had sodas and the party was over early, so we slept well. Clean shower and toilet with TP, 1 meter from were we were parked.
Report Check-InOkay place for stopover only before crossing border. Otherwise nothing special you are parked next to a kitchen n toilet ..noisy at times.
Report Check-InWe camped here for one night. 200 lempiras. Camped next to the pool. Had electricity and bathroom. Cold shower. No internet. Swimming pool was dirty. Quiet.
