Description

Campsite right near Bwindi NP so good stop before/after Gorilla trekking from Knuringo or Rushaga.
Rooftop camping in car park (not very flat), tents on grass area. Also have dorms and rooms.
Camping only - $10pppn. Prices vary based on bed only, B&B, half board, full board etc (see photos).
Restaurant/bar area, hot showers, WiFi wasn't working because the data package had run out.
Other hikes and tours available from $20pp upwards. Also a Pygmies women's group danced for guests in the evening.

Most people booked through Seith (the owner), and David is the onsite manager.

Permits - in August 18 the Government changed the way permits are issued, I believe in an attempt to stop tours overselling permits and sending too many tourists in, as a result, August was fully booked and we had no permits. Seith was able to get us in last minute which we are very grateful for although I don't know how, or how legal it was. This isn't a reliable method, before us he was unsuccessful at getting 3 girls permits. Best book in advance!!!

friendly and helpful staff. camping in RTT in car park. location is overlooked by a hill and isn't the most private. tried to charge $15pp reduced to $10 when we challenged as $15 would be very expensive for this place. showers were cold despite being told otherwise.

We stayed here during 3 nights. Very beautiful place in front of Bwindi Forest. From there, the gorillas trekking of Nkuringo is very near.
Seith is the owner and he can get last minute gorilla permits. He is a very nice guy with a lot of storys about Uganda.
The place is very good, with wifi, rooms and dorms. You can pay also with credit card. The road to get there is very scenic and the gorilla experience is one thing that we will never forget.
If you go to see the gorillas in Nkuringl, this is your camp base to stay for sure!

really nice place with friendly staff. with rooftop tent in car park or ground tent in garden. we choosed our ground tent and could leave it when we went to the gorillas. After hiking they offered us hot shower without staying a second night. nice bar / restaurant with amazing view on the park.
they offer dinner and breakfast for reason able prices. we cooked by ourselves and it was ok for them. recommended!
it takes you max. 20 minutes to the gate when it is dry. road conditions are in some parts bad.

RECOMMENDED:
you should drive the road which passes lake mutanda when you are going back to kisoro. amazing scenery with the virunga volcanoes. accomadation on the way is way to expensive and we camped on community campside in the south of the lake. but the best views are on the way!!! we drove when there was no rain...we never drove big cars but think it is not recommended. we have landrover

The Bwindi Backpackers Lodge is close to the Nukuringo Sector of Bwindi Nationalpark. 4 km to the startpoint for gorilla tracking. It can also arrange permits for tracking at a short notice. You can also do a lot of activities like visiting the community, chameleon tracking, visiting the Batwas etc. And it is reasonable priced. 10$pppn camping
