Description

You can camp here if you buy a trip to the flamingos for the next day. We moved further from the parking lot through the large gate to the port and camped beautiful there overlooking the boats. No night guardian. Heavy traffic and motorcycle races on the road next to the spot also at night.

we spent two nights in this parking lot without any security concerns. very calm. there is a guard who told us that there was no problem sleeping here. there are toilets closed at night. an outside water tap near the WC. raccoons occupy the second parking lot further off the road near the fishing pier. however, this second car park is more difficult to access due to low branches and an electric cable that is too low for us.

Could have camped here for free but we were in dire need of a shower so we went down to Villa Del Mar... however we jumped on a boat with some other travelers so it wasn't so much money and got to get up close to the flamingos... we didn't want to spend the money at first but we're really glad we did! It's worth it.... still 1,500mp for up to six people.

Still free to camp here even if you don’t book a tour - nobody cares. There are clean toilets and an outdoor shower as well as a decent open WIFI. The gate is open 24/7 and there is a night guard on duty. The road is close by but there’s hardly any traffic at night.
They now charge MEX$ 1,500 for a boat trip of about 80 minutes for up to 8 people.

It's free to camp here and we had a quiet night of sleep. Flamingo season is in full swing right now. Tens of thousands birds! You can wait here for other people to share a boat for 300 pesos per person or 1200 pesos for private boat +64 pesos for biosphere fee per boat. Did not pay for latter because we disembarked for the flamingo tour at 6 am. Sunrise with arriving flamingos is something special! Whole tour was 2 hours.
