Something not right?

Description

Large gravel pit. Nothing special but it's quiet and close to Talkeetna. On the east side of the road. Turn left past the boulders, up the small hill and you're there. Evidence of moose present.

Latest Check-Ins

Very quiet. Only us and some birds. Nice!

Report Check-In

Stayed for a few nights in small camping trailer. It was great for the quietness, cleanliness, and minimal mosquitos. Some locals do occasionally use the far side of the pit as a shooting range, and the one that we did meet was courteous and asked us before they started shooting. Got busy on our last night as a few rigs decided to spend the night. No view as others stated.

Great spot near town. Just a seven minute drive from the Talkeetna town center. We were alone besides a truck bed tent camper. One of the quietest spots we’ve ever found. Not scenic, but not as ugly as a Walmart parking lot. Not a soul around. We woke up at 6 to find parking and walk around the town center. I’d stay here again.

Great overnight place close to Talkeetna, easily could have space for several rigs. We were all alone up the hill couple of vehicles down the hill right at the road.

Report Check-In

As described, just an update that it's still usable.
Larger rigs ok.
Good Verizon.
Some traffic noise from road and floatplanes taking off and landing on Christiansen lake, but quiet at night.
Had a fox visit.
Fairly level, easy access.
A couple of other guests in the two nights we stayed, but plenty of room for several.

Report Check-In

Just as described before. Nice and remote without much noise and without much of a view.
