Description

Nice site with views and a Creek. Fire pits and it is possible to park a camper. The road is a little bumpy but manageable especially at the first site if you have a car. Across the street is additional camping in a field. This site offers tree coverage and has a better view though.

Great spot though very busy on the weekend. We arrived on Wednesday around 5pm and tried the south side, first spot was rained out with deep muddy ruts so we kept driving. Ran into a local camped on the creek bank who proceeded to tell us its illegal to camp so close to the water and just generally made us feel unwanted in the area.

So off to the north side we went! We found a great spot tucked back into the trees, very private compared to most of the other sites. Had deer coming through in the evenings and walking distance to several creeks for fishing.

It does get busy here on the weekends with atvs, motorcycles, giant toy haulers, etc so our advice is get here early. By Thursday the side by side crowd was camped on top of each other or wedging themselves into questionable dispersed spots.

I will say the traffic on the road was pretty minimal for as many people as were out there.

No service on visible or tmobile even with we boost.

16 day limit!

Off the main road to the right the road was too bumpy for us to go past the first spot to find another. Went back out and across the highway to the other side and found a beautiful open area with several more spots. A few other campers but very spaced out—so quiet, gorgeous view of the stars at night. Highly recommend. No service.

nice site. There are roughly 6 sites within 1/4 mile of the highway, we took the last open site. We wanted to get some exercise so we walked over to the north side of the highway. Walked to a nice little lake about 1 1/2 miles up the road. There are many more sites on that side and the road is good. The lake has several sites around it but you will need a high clearance 4 wheel drive to get to them.

This is a beautiful place. We camped on the south side of the highway, there are about 6 sites within a quarter mile. We took a walk on the north side and there are many more sites. We walked about 1 1/2 miles to a nice little lake on a good road. There were many sites along the way as well as many around the lake. You will need a high clearance 4 wheel drive to get to the sites around the lake.

A couple of great spots here! We had an amazing time in this national forest, it felt like a national park without the crowds! Great scenary, plenty of trails around too. We were lucky enough to see 3 moose and a herd of elk.
