Awesome place to spend the night. might be windy as others already mentioned. We were surprised by how many people came down that road. even on the night.

Report Check-In

Stayed the night after the ferry. No locals feeding foxes but there was one fox that did roam by. It is windy and loud if the fog horn is going off. Would stay again as the views are beautiful but not on a foggy evening.

Sooooo windy!!! We decided to move on and find another location.
Nice views and no other vehicles.

Comme mentionné dans la dernière description, vraiment un très beau site. Il y a un petit musée à visiter au phare. Surveillez vos déchets car il vente beaucoup et il y a pas mal d’animaux dans le coin. Internet: 3 barres avec Télus.

As mentioned in the last description, really a very nice site. There is a small museum to visit at the lighthouse. Watch your waste because it is very windy and there are quite a few animals in the area. Internet: 3 bars with Telus.

Lovely spot. Beauty sunset. Highly recommend.

Be aware this is daily activity for some people so you will have company from about 6 pm till nightfall as people feed the foxes. We enjoyed visiting with the locals and feeding the foxes too. . . saw about 6. We were asked to please park perpendicular to the shoreline to allow multiple vehicles to park here. By sunset, which is beautiful by the way, we had the place to ourselves with a panoramic view. It is windy and if there is fog you will hear the foghorn from the nearby lighthouse.

Forget about this spot. Locals are parked up there in the evening feeding all.the foxes. Room for maybe 2 vans but very uneven ground. Too many people coming and going here to see the spectacle. Didn't stay here, kept on driving down towards the other spot behind the lighthouse, much better in my opinion.

We stayed here for our first night in Newfoundland coming off the ferry. Past the lighthouse you can drive down a rutted gravel road to a flat spot right by the water. It’s larger enough to fit 3-4 vans comfortably. However, the road down to the spot is fairly steep and pretty rutted. Our 2-wheel drive Promaster could probably make it if we kept one set of wheel to the edge of the road but we decided not to take the chance. The second spot is on top of the dirt hilltop before the lighthouse. There’s probably only a flat spot available for one van. Since there were high wind gusts of 45mph we decided not to stay in that spot. Instead we found a flat spot between tow gravel berms next to the information signs for the underwater cable and were able to avoid the winds. We were visited by some cautiously curious foxes during our stay. Several cars came up to the lighthouse and parked for a while then left so it might seem busy until dark. The lighthouse and artifacts museum were not open while we were there. No other campers were there during our night here.

Very nice spot as others have said. A few things to know : super windy as others said, plenty of fox (we saw at least 5) and, if there is fog, you may not see the lighhouse but will hear its siren every minute for a LONG LONG time.

Stayed here one night after I got off the ferry, slept in my car. Got here after sunset but it was beautiful. Idk if I’d stay in this spot with anything bigger than a van. Was a good spot, but very windy. Also, a fox came around for a bit so watch out of him. Thanks for the tip!

A perfect spot on top of the rock! The little road off the main lighthouse road is in great condition. A sedan could easily get here. The sunset will be amazing!

Nice spot to the spend the night after getting the ferry. The coordinates is not that hidden from the nearby community, but you can go further towards the lighthouse. A few people came around sunset but otherwise very quiet. Not windy when we were here. Spent the night with 3 other vans.

We came here to cool our heels when the ferry was canceled due to the storm. Makes me glad it was delayed. This is a very nice place in spite of the storm.

Great spot by a lighthouse and a Dorset archaeological site. Ocean view. Quiet. Out of sight of town. Exposed to wind, but it's on the coast.

Feels like you're on a pedestal! Drive up the little mound and you get a gorgeous view of the surrounding areas and ocean. Windy as with all seaside places.
