We ended up staying here for a few nights whilst waiting for Gonarazou to open. it's currently the only camping option in Chiredzi and is 10pp pn. We got a key to a villa to use the toilet and shower. Staff were lovely and we enjoyed the burger and chips at the restaurant, they also offer a braai at lunchtime on Sundays at $6 a head which gets you an assortment of meats and traditional Shona food. There is WiFi in the bar and TV room near the office which was consistent and worked well. They also have Aircon in here on the hot hot days which was a plus! The villas and other building on the grounds are a bit old and tired, but everything was clean. As for the previous comment about bat guano smell, we couldn't smell it where we were but when we walked away from camp to abandoned bowls green we definitely found the roost. You don't camp there so it shouldn't be a problem. There is a fair bit of wildlife around at night including bush babys and nocturnal birds, and during the day there's a troop of vervet monkeys but they don't seem bold enough to raid your camp whilst you're there. if you need to do laundry there is a concrete wash basin and plenty of lines to hang your things too.

Worst campground we've seen in 6 months in Southern Africa. Absolutely not worth 10 USD/ppn! The main building at the campground is falling apart. Everything is dirty and not looked after at all. The worst part is the nauseating smell of bat poop everywhere. We did get a key to a "villa," but it was in similar shape. Mice poop everywhere and almost no water in the shower. Staff was not very welcoming. USD cash only.

We were pleasantly surprised by this camp, which ended up being perfect for what we needed. Camped on flat ground next to a large shelter, where we could hide out for the day when the rain persisted! The actual ablution block was closed and not shown to us at all, but we were given a key to use a nearby hotel room. Basic and ‘tired’, but perfectly functional and clean with a hot shower. Restaurant was good value and had great WiFi when there was power, but apparently they rarely get power on a Monday, and sure enough it was off all day! Overall, a peaceful, safe and comfortable stay.

Unfortunately they don't let us camp because of Covid even is we have a vaccination (they asked for this). It seems so that there is currently no possibility for camping in this town. Several Hotels rejected our wish and on the end we book a room, but the Hotels are very expensive here us well from our p
oint of view (50-100 USD without breakfast)

Two out of four showers didn’t work at all. One of the other showers had only HOT water and the fourth one only had just a little little bit of cold water. So it was not possible to shower. Ablutions very dirty! WiFi ok and for free. I think I used to be a very nice location but everything is run down.

But campers can use the hot shower at the gym. I got a key for 1 room as the ladies showers in the gym were also only cold. Pool access free. WiFi free and good, but at restaurant only.
