Description

Amazing. Pay 15000 pesos per adult and saw so many Andes Cock-of-the-Rock. (As cool to us as the Quetzal.) Walk down from city from 4-6 pm or early early morning. They have a few posters around the city but afternoon hours were incorrect. It’s private property so you must go during their hours.

We are not avid birdwatchers, but felt this was such a great experience and it surprised us how much fun we had! The birds are amazing. Cute coffee shop within the garden grounds. You can WhatsApp the owner via their website to find day to day information. Open from 3-5:30 and 12,000 COP to get in. She meets you at the gate so if you arrive and its locked, just wait a few moments for her to bring other guests out. She will let you in at that time.

Now 12k pp. It's fine, and you will see a larger concentration of the bird then in the wild, but we did see them out and about on hikes also. There is a little cafe too if you want a drink and just hang out, very peaceful place, but fairly constant stream of visitors.

still 10k per person to enter the personal property of a kind old lady to walk through her beautiful garden. it's not a very big property but man is it packed full of birds. it could be walked in 60 seconds but I recommend staying much longer. dozens of cock-of-the-rock's, a few species of hummingbirds, a pair of tropical screech owls, and maybe 10 green jays. the woman appreciated us taking our time and showed us a few special species of flowers, a frog, and a couple of caterpillars that dozens of people walked right past.

Awesome place to see the Andean cock-of-the-rock. As others mentioned, it’s open twice a day. The hours on the door say 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. We arrived at 3:15 pm and the lady let us in. It’s a short walk from the town center. After the comida rápida joint and before the bridge, take a right to an unmarked trail. 10K per person.

Totally agree ! If you are a bird’s lover, don’t miss this place. You’ll see around 25 Cock-of-roch and even other beautiful birds. They are really close of you and really actives.
It’s open from 5:15 to 6:00 am and from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. We went in the morning because we were not sure of the weather in the afternoon and to double our chances to spot the birds. We asked at the nice lady in the morning if we could come back in the afternoon with the same ticket and she was agree.
We think that the afternoon time is better because the birds are on the bush and the morning light is to dark to take pictures. 10000 cop pp.
