It is a nice flat place by the river, safe and quiet from 9pm to 6am , during the day the trains pass by whistling. Alejandrina is very friendly, she washed our clothes ( 3kg aprox) for $20 soles. She gave us some empanadas and coffee for free. $25 soles per night per car. 15 min walking to the station. Clean bathrooms and hot shower. We spent two nights here.

This place is paradise. They really need our support so please visit. We stayed 3 nights - could have stayed a month. It’s a little hard to find. We painted her a sign so hopefully she puts it up but Google maps will take you there. There’s a full location description in another comment too. If no one answers cross the little wood bridge and squeeze through the gate and go and find her. Her dog is friendly but whoofy don’t worry. She’s always on the land and in her house just not that great with her phone. She’ll be so delighted to see you. We adore her ❤️❤️

We planned to stay around this place but neither received an answer on WhatsApp (send one day before arriving) nor could we reach anybody on the phone.
While we were waiting outside the gate and trying to call them, the guy from Restaurant/Camping Las Canteras came by and told us, we could stay at his place as well and connect to electricity as well.

Report Check-In

Very much open, and lovely as described below. We didn’t get an answer via WhatsApp but Alejandrina answered the phone right away - try to call her a little in advance as she told us she’s not always there, but she will always come right away if someone wants to stay.
It’s very peaceful here, you have lovely views of the mountains and great stars at night!

This place is very much open! It’s beautiful and Alexandria and Simón are so kind and welcoming. We arrived at night - it was really hard to find the place as we couldn’t get through on the phone (I’ve added new numbers below). We luckily managed to find Alexandría in the end.

Directions: you cross over the bridge, continue on the road through the maíz fields and then turn left before the road bends to the right. I’ve uploaded a picture of the gate. If it’s locked, walk to the blue house in the field, which is where they live.

Simons number is: +51943420405 (he has WhatsApp)
Alexandria: +51 900 294 785 (she doesn’t have WhatsApp - best to call)
Facebook: Inka Rey

Updated prices:
Camping per night - s/25 per vehicle
Carpa (tent) - s/15 per persona
24h Parking - small vehicle s15 - grande s20

They live on a river and Rafting is available for s/25

They offer food, cafe, hot chocolate and delicious empanadas! 100% recommend. Easy walking distance from town (30mins) or a 6sole Tuk Tuk.

We loved it here 💜

Tried to contact the owner up front via WhatsApp and as well as by calling them. No response. Went there and the gate was closed. Had to back up again on a very narrow road. Not sure if this place still exists.

Wonderful nice and welcoming family, big grassy flat area near by the River. Alejandra does great Empanadas and pancakes. we stayed for couple of nights , left the car there to visit Machupicchu. Very recomandate place.

Report Check-In

We spent 3 wonderful days Here! Alexandria is so nice, made delicious (and cheap) Empanadas and Pancakes for us. Our daughter was sick and Alexandria brought medicine and a warm scarf for her! We paid 20 Soles per night and a bit more for electricity. Please support her a little, she is sick and the treatment is expensive. Thanks ❤️

Perfect place to leave your car to visit Machu Picchu. Easy walk to the train station or to town. If you have a big rig we would recommend to take the road along the river starting just outside Ollantaytambo. So you don't have to drive through the centre. Perfect for any kind of car/van/truck. And beside of that Alexandria and Simeon are really nice people. They welcome everybody and really depend on people coming to them. They have power, water, banos, shower and yummy empanadas. Enjoy.

Report Check-In

Wonderful people which deserve that people stay here during their trip. Alexandria and Simeon are so nice. Empanadas are delicious and Simeon can do rafting, horse trek and lot of things !
Besides Alexandria never has been at Machupicchu… is someone can bring her there it would be so nice. Unfortunately we were on our way back to Cuzco when we stayed there.

Endroit tres agreable au bord de la riviere. Un peu compliqué pour y arriver tel de preference. Accueil tres sympathique sanitaires tres corrects et douche chaude . ideal pour prendre le train pour le machu picchu 20 soles.

Report Check-In

The friendliest people ever!!! Every morning we got a different breakfast. They have nice dogs that played with ours. During our visit to machu picchu they took care of our dog!! Because the lady is sick she needs expensive treatment, so they are selling peaces (or all) of their land if you are interested. it is big and you can do a lot of things; hiking, climbing, rafting, parapanting, close to center, close to machu picchu

Report Check-In

We stayed here for wonderful four days in the middle of the nature. The owners are very friendly and the woman is cooking great food. 20 soles per night is a fair price. Toilette, shower and water available. 20min walk to train station.
Not easy to find - have a look at the photos.

Report Check-In

We found the place but there was noone around to open the gate, it seems people
live here but no bell or any way to reach the house besides climbing the fence which we didn’t do.

Report Check-In

everything still the same as in previous descriptions:
it is a basic campsite with toilet & shower, next to the river. The owners are lovely people and made us delicious empanadas in the morning :)

Access: cross the bridge and take the first road on the left after about 200m. Thats where you find the wooden entrance gate.
Best to give them a call before you arrive (spanish only): +51900294785

Report Check-In

Basic camping but really friendly owners. The lady made us pancakes in the morning :). The camping is quite difficult to find. You have to take the road all the way in the back to drive around the backside of the camping.

Report Check-In

Yes! A great place with lovely people! the only downside are the bugs...very buggy...but totaly recommended for a one night stop! Thank you Simon and Alejandrina!!!

Report Check-In

Everything that was told before is true.. Lovely owners, simple and beautiful place! Good for the ones who don't look for comfort and fancy way of travel.. Real life and real people on an amazing spot!

Report Check-In

The owners are so sweet! :)

We talked a lot and they explained that they used to grow corn on their plot of land but could hardly live off it so they are now entirely relying in overlanders staying here!

It is a great spot next to the river! It is basic camping but that is exactly what we were looking for, away from the tourist crowds in town!

Clean toilet and shower, and sink for washing your dishes. Hopefully Simon will implement the easy design to build a solar shower for some hot water since they couldn't afford anymore to pay the electricity bill... :(

Please go to this camping and support them!

You won't regret it!

Report Check-In

Basic campsite, level ground, clean toilet without seat & (very) cold shower. 15 min walk to the train station. We stayed one night and had the car parked here during our night at Machupicchu. Very nice lady. We recommend the place.

Report Check-In

Very lovely owner (Alejandina) welcomes you on her property at the river- big grassy area with basic but clean toilet/shower (not sure if hot, didn't use)! There is still her young dog Samson- full of energie but skinny and I guess happy about every food he can get :-)! Alejandina offered us fresh made empanadas to buy next morning- they were super delicous with veggies, chicken or cheese! the only bad thing was the noisy train nearby, but we slept well anyway and couldn't hear it during nighttime. 15sol/night total- fully recommended!

Report Check-In

This should be labelled as a campsite. It's rudimentary (just water and a toilet) but the lady who runs it is very sweet and accomodating. Only downside is the loud train, but we still slept really well. 15 soles for two people with rooftop tent.

Report Check-In

If you like the area but not the touristy town this is the place to stay. Also it’s great for dogs/kids/yoga as you’ll be camping on a big meadow with river access and sun from 7am! The couple is lovely and very interested in the travelers and also invited us to breakfast and brought us empanadas to try. Take care of their puppy, he is lovely but a little stormy to begin with. He played all day with our dog and we gave him food because he is so skinny! They put him on a leash most of the time because he apparently runs away but no problem to unleash him to let him play with your dog as he won’t run away when he has company. There is a toilet and water but only a cold shower. Price will change from 10 to 15 a night per car, that’s it. There is a kiosk close by to get eggs, tomatoes or onions and drinks for example and also a restaurant on this side of the river. You will be able to follow a footpath through the fields into Ollantaytambo if you don’t want to walk on one of the roads! They also offer rafting and Simon will recommend you other Inca sites to visit/hike from here.

Report Check-In

Such sweet people with big dreams to make this something more. In the meantime it’s a flat parking area with a beautiful river and amazing views of the valley. Oh, and a noisy train often! Take some treats for the puppy, Sansom and the duck and bunnies will eat your peels and greens. Rough but functional bathroom. 10s per night. Enjoy.

Just updating the location. You have to cross the river, go straight where the main road curves right you can take a smaller road to the left, you will see a wooden gate a few meters down the road. Check maps.me if you have any questions.

Beautifully located campsite with two very friendly owners, Simion and Alejandrina, contact number is 983393115. 15 sols per night for two people and vehicle. Clean toilet block with warm shower. To access follow the dirt road and cross over the cachicata bridge, then take the first dirt road to the left which is on the first corner after the bridge. Less than 100m down this road is a gate on the left to access the field. You can also safely leave your vehicle here to do tours etc, we left ours for 2 nights

Perfect place. We had a bit of trouble finding it, once you cross the river bridge keep going straight (the camping is to your left there is a White House and a small green house but you need to drive around) so keep going straight the main road will curve right and to the left there is a small road, follow it in til you see a wood fence gate, and an open grass area by the river to your left. You are here.
