We stayed in the central square, small square with free parking. In the morning there was a guy charging people who were collecting their cars saying he had looked after them all night but we heard him saying to his friend he leaves after collecting the money and we didn’t see him the night before. A part from that, you couldn’t be more central, it’s a small town anyway. We spent a peaceful night, it was quiet.

Stayed here one night. At firt a homeless lady came and asked for 10s to "guard" the van, but then another security guy argued with her and they both agreed nobody should charge us anything. It was a peaceful night and we left the van there for a couple hours for the Islands boat tour as well.

The town itself is very nice 🙂

We spent a peaceful night in the square's parking lot, we paid $5 soles when we arrived the day before and the Kombi was parked all day while we walked through the city. Mr. Juan takes care of the cars here during the day. Quiet and safe place.

Passamos uma noite tranquila no estacionamento da Praça, pagamos $5 soles quando chegamos no dia anterior e a Kombi ficou estacionada dura te o dia todo enquanto saímos a pé pela cidade. o Sr. Juan cuida dos carros aqui durante o dia. Local tranquilo e seguro.

We slept there two nights with our camper, on the recommandation of the police who said it was dangerous when they found us in two other spots we found, that were more secluded.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

dormimos con el motorhome frente a una plaza en diagonal al estacionamiento municipal, estubimos 2 dias nadie dijo nada, hay mercados para comprar, lindo lugar

We stayed here for two days and nobody asked for money. Is a busy area but there are policemen and serenos around the whole day up to late in the night. After 23h it was calm. You can drink a coffee in one of the restaurants and get the WiFi access.

was parking and were told that it's a municipal Park and wanted to charge me s/ 6 per hour, after see that I'll move to other place charged me S/ 15 for the entire day until next day. not sure exactly where they can charge and not but I paid 15 soles.

Decided to stop again on way back through. Was much busier and noisier this time- Saturday night. Be warned if you get tempted by cafes offering organic coffee or spaghetti carbonara you will probably be disappointed at over priced poor quality. Best stick with the seafood and cheap juice bars which are better quality and value

The restaurant owners said it was safe. Pretty chilled place, bit noisy at night but not too much. Public toilets open 9 to 5 only, toilet 1 sol, shower 3 soles. Otherwise can pay 1 sol to use at many restaurants. Continual security patrols so seems safe and friendly.
